I'm curious, from the tone of many of your responses you seem to classify yourself as mainly a cash player. Did you therefore appraoch the ME and the WSOP in general as a bit of a "bonus" or even a novelty (that's not quite the right word). Do you play much cash live?
I'm also a predominantly cash player, interested in your thoughts on cash players taking shots at tournaments, do you see it as a good investment (obv has paid off for you) or really is it just more of a change of pace and bit of a laugh and a gamble compared to the regular cash grind?
I'm in Australia so not sure how soon we'll see the FT but will be cheering for you from down under, best of luck.
I don't ever play cash live. I actually can't stand it, because I have to multi-table to keep my mind occupied. I consider myself a cash game player because thats what I prefer playing online, mainly due to the huge flexibility that they offer. I'm not bound into playing 9 hours straight. Although now of course I've earned more from tournaments.

I actually never met Oliver. I had an agent already going into day 6, so that probably deterred him.

Hah, I doubt I'll wear anything about Texas, as much as I love the state, I haven't been able to get them to pay me any money =O.

I know this would never happen, but just hypothetical
Call?

gl craig!
Hah. I'm not super focused on winning, I'm more focused on trying to play as well as I can. I know I can't win 100% of the time, and I'm able to accept that, although I think my entire family thinks I'm a lock. The Cantu hand went as follows. Effective stacks are like 7m cantu has chiplead in the tournament at this point. UTG opens to 250k cantu calls in mp, I make it 700k with aqo from the button, utg folds cantu calls. flop j67r check check, turn ace. Cantu checks I bet 100k, Cantu makes it 1m, I call. river T Cantu shoves, I snap. He instamucks.

No clue, you must've had a bunch of other poker player friends that I know, because I generally don't add randoms. My test is usually whether or not our only friend in common is Evelyn Ng, because she adds everybody. I usually don't add those people.

I very much doubt that would happen, but 10m is a lot of money. I'd prefer staying with ftp however as they're awesome and have treated me great so far.

I started this thread because A. people seemed like they wanted it, and B, because I felt like it was an opportunity for me to give a little something back to the community that I felt helped me learn a lot. Search my posts, I think every thread I responded to was about the final table.

Yeah, those are pretty much the only nvg posts I reply to.

Unlikely. I only play games I feel like I have some kind of edge in. I definitely do not have an edge in the vast majority of railheaven games that run.

Hah, actually if I remember correctly that corn crusted halibut was really weird. I think I just ate my delicious sandwich and those amazing MGM fries.
I actually am not sure how much I'll be paying in car insurance. Thats probably something I should've looked into.

I think my price represents value. As someone said earlier, I'm one double up away from being a legitimate threat.

Just a couple of questions (sorry if they've been asked already)
What was the most crucial hand of your tournament (if you can remember it)?
Who do you attribute your final table appearance to the most?
Thanks, I appreciate the support. The AQ hand vs brandon cantu and the AQ hand where I sucked out on dean hamrick were the two most important. I think my final table appearance is probably attributed to myself? I mean as much as I've learned from other people I think I've improved my own game more than anyone else has improved it for me. That and managing to not get coolered really hard.

You mentioned on the podcast that you intend to aggressively take on the role of poker ambassador should you win the ME (which is a great thing IMO, since that role has obviously been sorely neglected in recent years). Just wondering what sort of plans or ideas you might have to effectively accomplish the task of 'spreading the poker gospel' and bringing new players to the game?
Honestly I'm not really sure which avenues would be open to me. I'd definitely make myself available to espn, ftp, Harrahs for whatever promotions they wished to do. The vast majority of my poker playing career has been spent online, so I would do anything I could to introduce more players to that game.

(someone driving you there? makeup and interviews? friends around you or do you prefer to be alone until party time? what you will do during scheduled breaks, etc.)... I'd be interested, in as much detail as you're willing to share, how you see the day playing out.
(and then afterwards, seeing how close to reality your description came).
I'm planning on staying at the Rio at this moment. I'm going to probably just walk down to play, I really don't know what interviews and so forth they'll want from me, but I'll make myself as available for that as I can be. I really have no clue yet.

I don't like explaining my process in depth until after we play, however I feel like his play is very good vs opponents who are incapable of reading hands. His style works very well against them. He did not show his hand, he just instamucked.
Also, like I said when I started this thread, there are questions that I'm just not going to answer. I started it to give a bit back to a community that I feel like helped me grow as a player and the people with that attitude are going to have their questions answered. Every Monday I'll make a huge post like this one leading up to the final table and then I'll post something afterwards if people want.
