lol, he's such a tilt monkey sometimes. Unbelievable considering he's supposed to be up as much as he says.

That´s how he got started. I think he played it up to 5-10 (or 10-20), before finally switching over to plo because ´those games seemed juicier´.

About Ben Grundy, maybe it`s running extremely good for years, all while no one had a clue how to play plo. Now players have gotten a lot better he also starts running worse, which leads to tilt. FYI, I also think he´s always played short sessions when losing.
    04-09-2012 , 06:17 AM
it was almost 8 million in 320k hands, and wasn't most of it at stakes of around 50-100 and 100-200?

If it was just super soft games, why don't we hear more about other people crushing those same games? Likely he was legitimately one of the best PLO players in the world at the time, if other guys could've crushed the same games for a comparable winrate surely more people would've and we'd have heard about it
    04-09-2012 , 06:48 AM
Patrik and Ziggy come to mind. It probably was a lucky combination of extreme rungood (just 320k hands isnt a big sample for plo) and skill.

He's a backed player so must have some stop loss limits, that could partially explain why he plays the short sessions. Just seeing him lose the $10k with AA98 vs Ronny and then tell him how terrible he thinks Ronny is seems a bit weird. He tilted against Ben, but he was probably quite stuck by then.

It definitely pisses me off that games only really form if theres a mark on the high stakes table. Pretty much just 5 bullys trying to take someone elses money. What happened to the days when ivey pa durr and galfond would shread it up on 500/1000 against eachother
    04-09-2012 , 08:36 AM
Maybe I'm wrong but I doubt Galfond was playing in 500/1k games vs Ivey, PA and Dwan, at least not often... unless Guy was on the table
