PAUL ZIMBLER SETS RECORD – CONTINOUS MARATHON POKER SESSION LASTS 74 HOURS, 20 MINUTES, 21 SECONDS

English poker pro Paul Zimbler has set a new world record for the longest recorded continuous poker session. Zimbler played poker for nearly 75 straight hours in a live-game promotion, with all proceeds going to charity. The marathon session began on Monday night. Zimbler’s ordeal, which took a clear physical toll on his body and mind, finally ended on Thursday evening, at about 8 pm local time.

Visibly fatigued and barely able to walk away from the table, Zimbler was partially carried away from the game following his achievement. He had invited players to join him over a four-day series of 20-minute heads-up sessions. Competitors donated money to play, with all proceeds going to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

The match took place at the Empire Casino, where all WSOP Europe events are being held this year. The minimum donation to play against Zimbler was £10. However, official WSOP Europe sponsor Betfair donated £5,000 to the cause. Full Tilt Poker also made a large donation. The marathon poker session kicked off with Zimbler facing poker legend Doyle Brunson. Poker pro Mike “the Mouth” Matusow was Zimbler’s final adversary. The previous mark for recorded consecutive playing time was 74 hours. Zimbler was given occasional five-minute breaks. He played a total of 183 sessions. Incredibly, despite his fatigue, Zimbler managed to win the majority of the matches, posting a record of 102 wins and 81 losses. More than £35,000 was raised for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Another interview with Paul Zimbler for those who are interested. Intriguing to see that out of all the big names he played, Huck Seed was the guy who tried the hardest to beat him with nothing but pride at stake.
