I and many other posters on 2p2 resent all the hype over Annette for a few reasons...

the main one is that she gets too much publicity imo.
yes she wins/does well in donkaments.
is she number 1 in donkament winnings online? prob not.
if she was a male called Anders or w/e then she would not anywhere near as much attention.

basically, her publicity and hype is caused by a mixture of her skill AND her age and gender.

it's not that i want the attention she gets. i really don't. but i do think there are many poker players who are more deserving.

these players include a few tournament players.. but mostly CASH GAME players.

this is because it takes more skill to win $2million in cash games than tournaments - imo and they eyes of many others.

cliffs notes = she has skill. in tournaments. in which the stacks rarely exceed 100 x BB in the important stages. she gets publicity. a lot of it. more than her skill warrants. it would be better focused elsewhere.

I agree...young men don't get nearly as much publicity as women. In any industry when have men gotten more publicity than women? Nevertheless, it's a male dominated field...so, when a woman shows ability, it's refreshing to the public. It's what Chris Moneymaker did for online poker...females can inspire other women to enjoy a "tradition" that men have for years.

I didn't ask you to get super EMO...just a little insight from a female's perspective. You guys can be a bunch of cry babies...I know you mean well...just give people a break sometimes...
