It's amazing that 22 yr old online grinders are all such world class poker geniuses, but when they walk into B&M rooms at least 90% of them become ordinary losers with massive egos. How does that happen?

Because they haven't played real poker before. Huds playing against huds is not poker.

Maybe I just missed someone else posting it but Brunson eventually felted Beal. He took him for his full 5 million and then they ended the session.

In previous sessions Beal only wanted to play HU. I think they played 3 handed with Todd n Ted Forrest early on but after that Beal said HU only. If somebody else sat down I think Beal would leave.

I heard from multiple credible sources that Beal lost over 100K playing 5/10 at the Wynn yesterday.
I wanna hear more about this. Has to be one of the biggest 5/10NL single-session loss in, like, ever? I mean, 5/10 Wynn is uncapped, so I'm guessing he bought in for 25K or more for several bullets and game prob played more like a 25/50...anyone have more info?

I just went into Bobby's room and took a picture of the plaque for the 50K/100K limit game. Sorry, don't know how to upload images here. Game is expected to resume later today. Says clearly the min buy in is "$5,000,000." Rake is $100 per hour fyi...

Two Wynn regs won 45K and 35K each. Apparently he sat down with like 70K+. In the HHs I heard, Beal was just opening to $50, but lots of huge 3/4bets obv and light get it in post. In one hand, he got it in on K52ssx flop for 10K each heads up with 65o vs 43ss and won. Pot was less than $300 before flop. Sickkk!!

Andy Beal is a billionaire genius mathematician. I highly doubt a random grinder would "destroy" him.

All the strong online players I know have easily beaten live poker and the transition was easy for them.

Around the time of Black Friday the very rough rule of thumb was that whatever game a player could crush online he could beat in a casino for 5 or 10 times the stakes.

I watched top online 10 20 LH pros beat 100 200. I watched top 1 2 NLH pros beat 5 10 NLH and in some cases 10 20 NLH.

Marginal winning online players and losing online players were often another story.

lol, its cute that you believe this. Lestat is 100% right. Beal can't even beat the "corporation" players, all of whom except for Ivey never played high stakes LHE online. But the other poster who said the online grinder doesn't have 5M is right too, sometimes the biggest games are way way softer than the medium games cuz no pros can afford to play.

If I had a gun put to my head on the winner over next 1k hands id prob go beal > Todd

Kinda absurd how the biggest limit holdem live game ever played is being played by a pro who couldn't beat small stakes limit online.

None of those online grinders can beat Beal because he won't play them. Simple as that.

Winning money in live poker is all about finding the right people to play against.

Except that the link was posted in this thread and the Ivey part didn't happen at all like that.

So the Corporation has to pay over $1.25 million in taxes on the $5 million win ? .... Bummer

... or maybe can they file for some sort of break since they operate as a "Corporation"?

You do understand they were all losing to Beal before Ivey stepped in right? Beal is a complete bad ass and was playing close to optimal in the 00's, he's not one to be trifled with. You're a cutey pie. I'm sure Beal is just doing this to practice Cepheus style.

They wouldn't be playing Beal if he was that good. I'm sure he's smart enough to get close to GTO in HU limit holdem, but there's no way in hell he has the free time to actually put the work in.

You almost never see a football player after a game that says the other team sucked, always like "We made a good game against a good team of "Insert name" but at the end we deserved the 3 points".
