Saw this on Facebook today and had to laugh.

Alec Torelli directly advertising for America's Card Room stating "Poker is back in the US and here for good!" and that is is "legal, safe and secure".

Not sure if that's something I'd be attaching my name too......

Pretty ballsy to advertise and a sure way to get a bullsey from the doj types. Peops in winning forum were wondering how site could afford the overlay in the million guess couldn't do that indefinitely and scaled back.

Poker in the US is legal, so don't really see the problem.

So ACR is operating legally and you would use your name to promote this and the site?

I can't see how pros that are being sponsored by sites located offshore that continue to offer play to US citizens have the balls to say that it is "legal".

He's just posting an affiliate code. Anyone can do that. It doesn't mean that he's a sponsored pro or that ACR wrote the ad.

Anyone watch his YouTube channel? Its basically a huge self congratulatory display of his poker skills disguised as a free strategy resource.

I really, REALLY wouldn't be surprised if Alec were behind the transparent affiliate spam article on medium from the other thread. Get some 2+2 sherlocks on it.

Yea, I would. It is legal, there is little doubt about that. Whether banks should be processing the payments is another question, but with the increased use of BTC on the site, that kind of negates that as well. There is only a handful of states that specifically forbid offshore gambling sites.

I guess that is why the internet poker section of 2 plus 2 warns about not using banks names then.

Its legal for the consumers to play. Its a grey area as for the operators mainly because they aren't paying tax or opening themselves up to american regulation. Pokerstars and Full Tilt were attacked for money laundering and tax evasion, not for providing poker.
