The former FTP regulator has decided to commission an independent investigation into how they dealt with the sites suspension and revocation.

Statement:

“We believe we acted appropriately and fairly at all times but, following our own internal assessment and the inevitable questions that have been raised by third parties, the Commission decided that it is in the best interests of players, license holders and AGCC itself to commission an independent review and to make the outcome public.”

Are they not merciful.

It takes a very special case of shamelessness to say

after all that happened. I so wish they would face some consequences for what they did.

Maybe they will get whoever audited Full Tilt's accounts to do it!

Go on la6ki, explain to me how what they did was so bad.

If anything, their faults are not picking up the accounting practices at FTP sooner

Yes, that would be a pretty good start!

In any case, them supposedly regulating FT did absolutely nothing to help players protect their money.

Explain to me how was FT under AGCC better or safer than FT without a license?

These scumbags did absolutely nothing right. They didn't protect players' money like they should have. I am surprised they have the nerve to release such statements.

All these so called poker regulators hide under a rock when something bad happens to a site and when they come out they say incredible bull**** like this
“We believe we acted appropriately and fairly at all times".
They are just money grubbing idiots with 0 credibility.

What is the role that the regulators play?

How did they put the $250,000 USD/ time period to use?

Pretty much. All of these "regulators" are a big snarky joke, and nothing more.

Haha don't think I could handle living in the channel islands, some places (Sark and Herm) still dont even allow cars!

I dont think their handling of the case has been terrible, certainly they arent as bad as the KGC in my eyes. The fact they actually revoked the license shows they were doing something, although they should have protected players better prior to license revocation.

PLAYER PROTECTION

The Commission regulates the eGambling industry, to ensure that it is conducted honestly and fairly, remains free from criminal influence and that it does not cause harm to the public at large, individual persons and families.

The Commission’s functions in respect of the interests of the player include:
•Assessing the background of the various entities involved in offering the gambling game, including the sources of their funding and the ultimate beneficiaries of the licensed entity;
•Assessing the internal controls and operating procedures applied by the licensed operator to ensure that sufficient controls are in place to mitigate any risks associated with gambling;
•Assessing the fairness, security and auditability of the gambling systems used in making gambling available;
•Reviewing the marketing and advertising policies of licensees;
•Investigating complaints by aggrieved players; and
•The granting of approval and continuous reviewing of policies in respect of player protection and under-age gambling, including:

o Customer registration;
o Customer verification;
o Customer funds [e.g. deposits; recourse to funds; additions to funds];
o Limiting customer activity;
o Counselling for customers; and
o Customer complaints.

it's a bunch of BS in my opinion

I don't see a point to these "poker regulators." The fish don't know they exist. Good players don't care that they exist.

FTP was operating illegally....why even bother paying for a fake license. Unless it was like "paying for protection" or something.

I mean, if I was driving drunk...speeding...snorting blow while a hooker blew me...the last thing I'd care about was weather I had a drivers license or not.

a review over incompetent AGCC to detext the scam in a fast way would be wayyyyy better. Of course they wont do it, its better to review what they did when it was already too late!

I would think this review would be to appease the British Govt so they don't "strike" them off the so called white list.

-1. Seem to have forfilled all the bolded.

Some players seem to think AGCC exist to protect their deposits....wrong. If you knew Lederer and Bitar were gonna make off with funds maybe you should have advised the AGCC.
Got to consider that when FTP when bad a nice quick suspension of licence ensured no new members of the ponzi signing up.

I don't remember many probelms with underage players, customer verification etc etc.

And the last thing organisation I would be blaming for your actions would be the driver licencing agency

The only thing the AGCC did wrong was allowing US players to continue playing on their regulated sites after UIGEA

EDIT: Report out March 2012, independent by...
Peter Dean CBE
Peter Dean was Chairman of the Gaming Board for Great Britain, and subsequently the Gambling Commission, from 1998 to 2007. He was Deputy Chairman of the UK’s Monopolies and Mergers Commission from 1990 to 1997 and from 1996 to 2001 served as the Investment Ombudsman appointed by the Investment Management Regulatory Organisation (IMRO) to handle complaints against IMRO regulated companies. Before that, he was an Executive Director of the international mining company Rio Tinto Plc for over ten years. He has a legal background and is a former Chairman of the International Association of Gaming Regulators

Please do let us know the dates of the last KGC and NGC Independent reviews????and you readers are obv. aware that both KGC and NGC pay AGCC to act in an advisory role over all their online operations? WPTOnline and WSOPonline both have AGCC licences

http://www.gamblingcontrol.org/userf...0Greetings.pdf

'Licensees, Associates and business colleagues' ZOMG, no card to the players...I thought they only existed to insure my bankroll

So, the world's best online regulator has just broken new boundaries in the provision of online Gaming Regulation....the first independent review, overseen by a country recognised for it's independence and fairest legal system in the world.

Can only be good for Online Poker.
