Are we all pulling for Dragana now? I think an amateur woman winning could cause a potential poker boom again.

Shocked Rigby wasn’t at the featured. And the fact that I haven’t heard the rail yet, did he bust or just not show up

That was super odd. That would be the last hand I think that guy would have in that spot if I was playing live against him.

I was kinda hoping chance kornuth would jam the A-10o there. I feel he does a lot of shady things here with his chips. Seemed like he was kinda angling at the start of this broadcast today.

Poker boom isn't happening when online poker is illegal in most of the US, but hopefully she can make it. It would be a good story.

Poker bump? Maybe not a BOOM but it would definitely help raise more interest especially among the fairer sex.

Lim has no shot. Floats that flop. Then folds to a jam from a shorty?
Yikes. Think you either turn that into a bluff and shove that flop
Or just fold (which is the most likely option). Peeling there with 10-7dd is just so meh against a short stack that is a world class player.

A boom could happen in Brazil, India, China, Japan or South Korea if a winner were to come from one of those countries.

Haven't the structure and starting stack improved a lot since then?

I feel like that was still in the days of 10k starting chips, but I could be wrong.

I do think it gradually ramped up in that era. I forget the exact timeline and changes.

Agreed that you don't have to play perfectly, but I do think it's a lot harder for the pure rec to run ultra deep than it was.

Blunders are coming from her. Was i wrong?

That 10-7dd peel against a shorty where even the bottom of his raise range is ahead of her was so bad. Like she would have to sun run like no other to win. She would get smashed at a final table if a few good players were there.

Might've found a spot where literally every worse hand is folding and better is calling w/the shove in the 99 v. KJs hand, and it's perfectly fine as a bluff catcher.

Sadly, she's choosing the wrong hand to mash buttons and shove. Should've done it vs. Chance.

Probably a bottom 5% player in this field (the overall 6500 player field), no?

She's doing cool stuff but choosing the wrong stack depths to do them. That nines shove probably would have gotten through if villain was deeper.

Based on her last hand, the Jamie Gold and Jerry Yang references are quite appropriate.

And floating flop when the OOP player has less than pot bet left is lol.

Sucks this dude found the call with the KJ. I feel like once clock is called, they fold most of the time.

Nejad and Schulman are the nuts. No need to mess that up. BTW, Nejad doesn't get enough credit. Schulman's best work comes when he plays off things Nejad says.

Lon calls an All-In hand as flopping trip eights when he has two Q's in his hand. Norm politely corrects him and Lon says "Oh yeah, the graphics weren't clear" (but they were). Just plain weird where that call came from. How many times do we have to listen to commentary that is incorrect; wrong player's turn, wrong amount of bet, wrong hand stated or missed, all-in or not all-in, stack size, etc. etc. And then they laugh when their mistake is pointed out, like no big deal. Probably over 50% of their commentary has nothing to do with the hand that is being played or is the third or forth recap about some player's job, their tourney resume or lack of it, or some other tidbit of information that means nothing to anyone watching. Another 25-30% is continual discussion about what a player is wearing today and wore yesterday or maybe who they look like. Then of course we must hear about candy for the millionth time. Perhaps 10-20% of the time is spent discussing something to do with the game in progress. Unfortunately they know nothing about strategy (Jamie excepted) or tactics, so it is very thin commentary with no real substance to it. Does any of this add anything to the show? I don't think so.

Finally it's time for Ali and Nick to take over. The difference is like night and day. Two very knowledgeable commentators who take a deep look into what is transpiring on the table and give us an experts point of view. You know, kind of what we expect from professional commentators when we are watching tennis, golf, baseball, basketball and football. They are both intelligent, articulate and insightful, and can also be humorous at the right moment. Even their humor is intelligent and original, not just some old cliche. What a relief after four hours of cringeworthy commentary.

Just watched a hand where A,J raised and A,A reraised. Now A,J tanks for a long time and finally three bets. A,A four bets big and A,J folds. Until the end of the hand Lon and Norm are talking about their favorite vacation spots, playing Putt Putt golf and talking about past events (including college wrestling) that they've worked on. Jamie finally brought them back to reality and where they are now. What a joke!

Gold's 2006 game might be better than this. At least he knew how to work the table talk against inexperienced players (and even worked Cunningham a bit).

I wouldn’t say bottom 5%- no way. She finished 3rd in a $10k high roller earlier this year. Random rich recs don’t tend to start playing poker and just go oh **** I’m going to play a 10k high roller (maybe they do but why are the field sizes so small for high rollers?). Say what you want but finishing 3rd in even a small 103 person field is pretty damn impressive. I assume she had to do a little studying prior to playing that.
