Yes and apparently when you pay $10,000 to enter a tournament and then proceed to make the final table of said tournament you for some reason have to conform your dress and behavior to what other poker players and poker fans think it should be.

You aren't allowed to have your focus be entirely on playing each hand as best you can in the biggest tournament spot of your life, instead you're supposed to be constantly asking yourself 'is what I am doing right now good for the game?'
'will the fans and all those guys on 2plus2 accept me or not?'

Apparently that's how it works.

I think he said no check - raise post flop. And eventually there was one. Beckly check raised McKeehen when he had flush draw and two overs with J9hh.

I believe there were two, both three handed, and both got folds. Blumenfield raised a Qc river that made McKeehen top pair and him a flush, and Beckley c/r a low flop with two hearts with J9hh. So there was no post-flop raise either called or 3! at the entire final table.

While I agree that this FT wasn't ideal for promoting poker, hate for that fact shouldn't be projected onto the players. It'd be better to use that energy towards something constructive like trying to figure out what changes need to happen to facilitate a better viewing experience, i.e. shot clock ideas aimed towards actually making the shot clock in live televised poker happen or suggestions as to how the tournament could provide a more interactive and engaging experience for the average viewer.

It's called prestige. Have some pride. Have some dignity. He only makes himself look bad.

That's how he comes off - complete lack of self-respect.

He can do whatever he wants but as it's been said numerous times, this is the largest poker tournament in the world being broadcasted on live national TV.

There's simply no excuse to look like a homeless bum.

And to address your point of haters... Of course he's going to get hated on when he gives everyone every single excuse in the book to not like him. This thread is filled with a whole list of reasons why he's unlikeable.

This final table was a disaster for poker. I'd estimate 90% of poker players were bored by the snail's pace and repulsed by the slob who won, imagine how the public saw this event.
