Reason for fewer One Drop entrants: Many, many millions were lost betting against Ivey/DN winning a bracelet this year. Money that would have gone to One Drop buyins. Why else would you see DN/Ivey in such a good mood today?

educate yourself on the variance tournament poker involves and you will learn that my post is reasonable.
Anyone who wonders why Hellmuth Negreanu etc were raising funds for the One Drop should also educate themselves on tournament poker variance.

He's listed at $138k in WSOP cashes so far, 139th in the money list. If you don't count the $100k at the Bellagio then he's between $40k up and $20k down depending on how many of the $10ks he played.

This should be interesting to hear about. Before this, he had a tweet saying Phil was there, but, WSOP was verifying funds:

Donnie Peters ‏@Donnie_Peters 1m
Tournament staff now breaking a table, which means @phil_hellmuth definitely won’t be showing up. #BratTease #OneDrop

@Donnie_Peters: And the rumors about @phil_hellmuth entering are no more. “No one else is coming now.” said the tournament director. #Big1Drop #OneDrop

Should be nice and humiliating after trying to start a spectacle with tweets like these:

phil_hellmuth @phil_hellmuth · 4h
Hmmm...Seems like I may still play "One drop!" I have until 1030 to reg...Money is flowing in!

phil_hellmuth @phil_hellmuth · 2h
This would make a GREAT Reality Show: me raising $600,000 in the last couple hours for a poker tournament!!

Maybe I did it wrong I totaled 156k in cashes but did not equate non cash buy ins. But to say he hasn't had a good summer is not correct. I'd put Phil in the top 10% of players in tournament poker in this event.

Aaron Todd ‏@CasinoCity_AT 1m
According to @AlCantHang, @phil_hellmuth has left the building. Final number for #Big1Drop is 42? Prize pool likely coming soon.

What happened here? He thought he had the money and one of his backers couldn't get money wired or something? I just imagine Phil being irate...

Sad, but probably true(and funny in a sick way). Why anyone would want the life of a poker pro is beyond me.

Hellmuth will have some story about why he couldn't enter to cover up from him having to admit that he thought he was a dog and didn't want to invest his own funds.
