I think this poll is biased a bit by the "who is Linda Johnson" comments, as she hasn't been quite so visible post-poker boom, but Linda was certainly responsible for popularizing poker in the late 80s and early 90s pre-poker boom, not to mention that she was one of the more well known female players at that time. I believe she was the second woman to win a WSOP bracelet after Barbara Enright. (Maria Stern won one the same year and I don't know which event was first, but Stern's doesn't count because her husband made a deal at the final table where he gave her opponents a favorable deal in exchange for them throwing the tournament to her. When play got to heads up, despite a 3:1 chip disadvantage she won 17 out of 18 hands in a row, and of the 48 hands that were played heads up, only one went to a showdown, the last one. Linda Johnson actually wrote an editorial later about the Stern scandal and if I recall correctly Stern admitted it was wrong for her and her husband to do that.)

Greenstein & Juanda should be shoe-ins. Huck Seed should get in soon enough as well.

LOL @ the people that voted for Annie Duke though, I am assuming this is a level vote.

Yeah, I noticed that too. I hadn't thought of Ventura for years, and all of a sudden...

Personally, my pick was for Jack Mclelland. He was WSOP TD for 15 years, and has since been involved in the WPT heavily. He stabilized structures and schedules for WSOP, and helped grow the brand from a gathering of texas old boys to be ready to explode when the boom happened in 2003.

Yea, here-here for TMc and the no-smoking in poker rooms. That alone is huge. 4 bracelets (one Main Event!), and satelliting that has become a staple in poker.....

Then they put all the ME winners in that special WSOP in 2009, and it was TMc that bested them ALL....a small sng to be sure, but look at the lineup he bested.

But what about his BOOKS also....authored a LOT (with TJ and others), and really before Harrington's, Tom's books were probably best on Holdem Tournies (with Doyle)....

You look at LONG TERM and CLASS and contributions off the felt, and never a slimebag stiffing people for money, etc., and you get a lot more appeciation for McEvoy. Look at Mike Sexton's induction speech and he really gives it to Tom for worthy of getting in. Doyle for sure would vote for him, as well as TJ and most of the "old gaurd"....now the current mystery media people, probably not, but if they did more research I think they would.

This year it would be just REALLY DISTASTEFUL for anyone associated with Full Tilt to get it, so that puts out Jenn, Huck, JJ, and yes, Howard's sister too!! If one of them DOES get in this year, then it's not a Hall of FAME as far as I'm concerned.

Barry, TMc, and maybe Linda are the ones, in that order.

lol negreanu rant much?

“For what? Robbing people at UB? Owing Russ Hamilton money and never paying him back? For stealing money from people at the poker table?

“For representing poker in the worst light imaginable when she was on Celebrity Apprentice? For all those things then yes.

“If you took out the “F” and added an “Sh” in the word fame then yes, I think she should be inducted,” he added.”

“Along with her brother, the Lederer family would be the king and queen of the poker Hall of Shame," Negreanu said.

I love Negreanu's rants against Duke and now Lederer but surprised that Duke owes Russ Hamilton money. With all the money he stole it's nice to see somebody ripped him off. To bad it was Duke. Anybody know how much she stiffed ole Russy boy out of and when it happened?

She's considered the first lady of poker. Use to own Cardplayer magazine before the Shulmans and ran Cardplayer poker cruises. Also was always a real good player and was a real leader in the poker community. Did a lot of announcing at major tournaments before they were on tv and was always friendly with anybody and everybody. She's like the female Mike Sexton. Deserves to be in eventually.
