You don’t have to worry about politicizing pandemic-time policy up here because 90% of the population has communist leanings

I am talking the media. Its like they are scared to ask him anything that makes him look bad

This is nothing new, he's their Golden boy. It's pretty funny how last week everyone was up is arms about Trump suspending WHO funding pending an investigation, Trudeau even said now is not the time. Then this week they announce they will be doing an investigation.

How bad did the RCMP botch the Nova Scotia tragedy? Wonder how many lives could have been saved if they used the emergency message service. Atleast 2 that we know of so far.

Literally everyone is the golden boy compared to the idiocy seen in the USA#1. Doug Ford, who has no idea what to do with his arms and hands as he stands like a gorilla looks and sounds like a golden boy in comparison, because the reality is that they both are several orders of magnitudes better than Trump.

If either started talking about bleach and light therapy then you would see much different coverage.

The above post sounds abt right. Trudeau won his first election largely (imo) because the conservative attack ads painted him as a moron, so anything he actually said sounded smart in comparison. Their own ads backfired terribly on them.

Juxtaposing him, and ford, with trump makes them both look like they belong in mensa.

What do you mean by "media"? Front-page CBC website articles complaining about what he's doing? I see plenty of columnists writing up critiques of things the government has done. I haven't recently watched one of his news conferences, but they always seem to be followed by the media asking questions and him providing evasive non-answers - but what else is new.

If someone is looking for hyper-partisanship content, just read the comments below any article and you can get your fill of low-information vitriol.

One other thing about doing it during a national crisis: it's generally bad politics. Look at the coverage Derek Sloan (and by extension Scheer and the PC party) are getting now. There's a smart way to criticize during a crisis, but most of the up and coming PC leadership candidates appear to have either the tact or the intelligence to pull it off.

I have watched Global, Power and Politics and CTV National on a consistent basis and 10 minutes each on the RCMP tragedy and yes the fact that they never issued an amber alert cost lives. I cant imagine a RCMP car pulling up with a guy in uniform and even thinking anything bad.

I have yet to see anything on Trudeau the man of science being briefed in Jan by the Five Eyes that this will be a huge problem and having the Federal Health officer herself writing a full report in 2008 on this exact scenario.
The other nations all have Conservative right wingers that debate climate change. So no excuse for Mr Science guy Trudeau.
I saw one report were they used the blood on their hands referring to the RCMP on how they handled the massacre.
Applies to Trudeau as well and DR Tam

Though to Trudeauès credit he has not suggested disnifect shots

I don't understand "the CBC loves Trudeau" sentiment when it's clear to anyone with a brain that that's not the case. I don't even like the guy but I don't feel the Canadian media is remotely in his pocket.

Yeah, I don't get it as well, other than perhaps compared to all the drama behind Trump it all seems so relatively polite.

On a localized level, the Toronto Star and Rob Ford had a pretty trolly relationship for a while, which even that would be several notches gentler than the Trump Light and Lysol show.

I get why folks are frustrated. Here in Alberta Greenhouses essential services golf course no. Both are a mental reprieve.

I wish we would limit shopping to just one person. To many couples or parents with older kids shopping together

Saskatchewan starting its reopening soon . Looks to be in a responsible manner and they have flattened the curve and have the testing capability

Well here in SK we've been lucky that the population density is low and no one wants to come here. There is no area in North America that reopening makes more sense than here.

Interesting .
Please explain how Canadians are 90% communist , I can’t wait to hear this .

Ps: especially with like 35% voted For Sheer....
Already a 25% error on estimate !
Not very surprising from people with those kind of opinions....
Facts doesn’t matter .

I suppose that you aren’t familiar with the work of Rosemary Barton, for one?

No one cares about popular vote - well they shouldn't anyways. If we did then I, as well as tons of other Canadians, would've voted differently.

Totally and Ford as gain a lot of supporters now .
But it’s mainly because Ford decided to respond with common sense and act accordingly instead of following blindly political schemes like trump.
It’s good to see some right wing political leader govern not for only his base but for all....

Lets see if Trudeau calls out Quebec for its irresponsible behavior

Is it fair to say Quebec is the farthest away from reopening things

Hum ..?
Which was what exactly ?

Quebec closed school faster than Ontario and both close the same day for non essential business.

As for reopening faster if that’s what you mean , here the rate is falling , seem it’s possible some places open earlier than others which is normal imo .
