Canada did what it needed to do a lot sooner than the US, and even a leader like "buck a beer" Doug Ford has approached this topic with the appropriate seriousness from the start, and again got out of the way of experts in terms of what needed to be done. Added to that is that the US health system is a relative mess with how it is structured and it really showed with this, with different states and hospitals bidding each other up on supplies.
The US had some innate issues that all presidents would face, such as the way the health care system is constructed, but Trump definitely killed a ton of people with his "its a hoax" "let's have Easter services" disassociation from reality, until somebody finally snapped him somewhat into reality the last couple days. I kind of wonder if some people close to him threatened to quit if he did not accept reality, because its not like he suddenly discovered empathy and compassion as personality traits.
I think Justin has done very well on the bailout and saying Parliament needs to go further. His press conferences have improved last few days as well. Give us the facts
Though his mistakes would be :
- Slow to react overall which many countries did
- Failed to close the border to the problem countries like China, Iran and Italy
- Failed to close US border when he knew it was a shitshow in the USA and told us closing borders doesn't help than closed it 3 days later
- Failure to put the country in a Full State of Emergency and close all air traffic other than cargo. Close provincial borders
- Restrict CDNS to only groceries and medicine and only one shopper at a time
Oh and I forgot giving 14 tons of medical supplies to China after they have been screwing up non stop
I think all the provincial leaders have done a very good job
