And the next muppet I catch coppin' zzz's in the bush, I'm personally gonna take an interest in seeing them suffer.

Afternoon sex, followed by a cuddly nap.

No, it’s still not. Choosing not to have a child because you don’t think they’d have a good life is not nihilism, lol. Choosing to have a child in such a scenario might be though.

chill,

Have you ever considered that your clinical depression (which I know you have tried to treat in various ways) is warping your worldview?

Sure, but it doesn't stop me from thinking logically. Do you have any logical counter to my argument?

The only counter argument I have ever heard is that "you can't harm someone who doesn't exist", which is easily countered by the 200 year bomb example.

There's a school of thought that says the clinically depressed are simply more in tune with the world as it really is.

I think it involves a lot of the terror managment theory and how the internet + **** like covid has weakened it.

Sounds like something a depressed weirdo would say in order to justify their misery.

Depression is an emotional reaction to the facts at hand, not a worldview.

I wonder if it would be acceptable for someone here to refer to another person as a 'trans weirdo' or a 'crippled weirdo'.

Lol depressed people. ****ing weirdos. Amirite?

One could argue he was using "depressed" as a qualifier and just straight up calling dude a weirdo, but I guess that would be a pretty tenuous argument to make.

STOP WHINING!

A perfectly reasonable reading is that he means a depressed wierdo as opposed to a wierdo who isn't depressed.

In any case the view that life is net -ve is quite standard.

Weren't you the guy who did a stint calling trans people "it"? I feel like weirdo is completely tame compared to what we see quite regularly here.

Damn, wish I'd thought of that.

Yes he could, but I still think that wouldn't be allowed here for other types of people.

Well dote on gettign one right D2 but be braver. You dont need to hide being reasonable with the tenuous thingy.

No I never called anyone "it". I said that "it" would be a more appropriate and less confusing pronoun for non-binary individuals than "they" is, but of course I would never refer to anyone as "it" unless it became a universal standard or an individual told me it was their preference.

I'm pretty sure you knew that though. Good to see you admit that you don't believe depressed people should be treated with the same respect that you believe trans people should.

It's a fine line. If I say "that brown haired pervert", you probably know I don't mean all people with brown hair are perverts. If I say "that bisexual pervert", you can probably safely infer I spend a large part of my time on college campuses violently gesticulating with a bible in hand and screaming obscenities at passing female students. Language is a fickle mistress.

Chill,

You denied it earlier, but you have all but confirmed it with the posts you made since. You absolutely do think that being depressed is a virtue that makes you more enlightened. "Everything is meaningless so humans should go extinct" is a weirdo take, anybody that makes it cannot be taken seriously, and no amount of blubbering is going to change that. You can post links to Wikipedia pages all day long to convince yourself otherwise, but being depressed is not making you smarter.
