chuckling over a dude calling a pregnant black lady a lazy piece of **** and allegedly telling her to go back to where she came from makes you chuckle?

i'd say im surprised, but..

She has already walked back the "go back where you came from" comment. She made it up! Hilarious!

Talk about the snake eating its own tail. We have a Democratic legislator leading a social media smear campaign against a grocery clerk, who is an immigrant and a Democrat to boot.

Dude probably makes $15 hour and doesn't even have health insurance. Pretty surreal this guy is now a political target.

you sure it wasn't the blatant racism that you were laughing at?

and she hasn't walked it back, she says he made references to her going back to where she came from, but wasn't positive on the exact language.

you of course are taking the word of a crackpot that screams at pregnant minority women in a grocery store because of having 15 items in the express line, who admits to screaming at her and calling her a lazy ***** but claims he didn't use any racist taunts in his expletive laden rant.

none of what your saying is the story.. so good job good effort, i guess? shrug.

he wasn't a clerk, and he claims to have cuban ancestry somewhere along the line but is not an immigrant according to any story i read, including some on alt right crap sites.

he also was recorded asking if he said the racist things? then asking if he was recorded saying the racist things.

He didn't work there. He was another customer.

Ok. I thought he was an employee. So he was a customer who just happened to be there 2 days in a row when she was? Bizarre, but fair enough.

As far as what happened, I don't really thing it is necessary or appropriate for congress people to wage media and social media shaming campaigns against dudes at the supermarket who yelled at them, no matter how big an ******* they were. But I guess this is the brave new world we live in now, so be it.

That guy was a dork who tattled on someone for having too many items in the express line. But she said he said one thing and walked it back when the story blew up. They both suck and it was a fun episode to watch.

The headline obviously makes it sound a bit silly but if the plan is to also hire more staff to make up the shortfall in work hours then it's clearly a very good thing for the workers.

That's how salaries work, not hourly employees.
There it's work less = paid less.

Did you even read the article? Bernie's staff are unionised and (I'm pretty sure) salaried.

If they're hourly then reducing their hours will have no effect on their hourly rate. If the campaign are reducing their hours to increase the hourly rate they must be salaried. You're a logic guy aren't you? Even if you weren't you could try perhaps reading the article?

Quote:
Sanders' 2020 campaign was the first to unionize in March 2019. The union then made an agreement with the campaign that field workers were to be paid $36,000 annually. The contract, which began on May 2, also provides platinum level health care, paid vacation, sick leave and other benefits.
Quote:
Field organizers say they make a salary of $36,000 annually but work 60 hours per week, which is an average of $13 per hour.
Quote:
"As these discussions continue, we are limiting hours so no employee is receiving less than $15 for any hours worked."
Do try to keep up.

So they were making $10/hr at 40 hours per werk and now he is paying them $15 to only work 26?
Yeah sure that would better. You speculated that he would be hiring additional workers to make up the extra 14 hours though.
