They have been going on for over 4 months.

Before that there was a different set of protests that had been going on for 6 months

The discontent with Bibi's government isn't new.

Israeli satellite and cable TV providers suspend broadcasts of Al Jazeera

Israeli satellite and cable television providers suspended broadcasts of Al Jazeera after the government decision to shut down the network’s operations in Israel for as long as the war on Gaza continues.

Benjamin Netanyahu’s cabinet made the decision on the grounds the television network, in their estimation, threatens national security.

I remember just before the war started reservists were threatening to withhold their service. Did not know tens of thousands of people are now attending weekly. I guess it makes sense

Hostages not returned
Tunnels not destroyed
Hamas leadership loving life in Qatar
Hamas still running around like rats underground

A lot to be angry about

The longer Bibi sticks around, the less Israel looks like a democracy and more like a theocracy.

A lot to be angry about
Bibi playing politics in a war
Haredim issues
The entire north of the country still not living at home, living in hotels
No clear day after plan

Definitely need new leadership soon

There have been lots of protests against Netanyahu over corruption, but these are for a ceasefire.

Of course not. Iraq was fighting with Kuwait (ie British Petroleum) over oil.

They're largely for a hostage deal.

Israelis are put in the spot to trade present hostages for future ones. Trading the present hostages at any price is still a minority position in Israel, however.

And the support for a Rafah operation from the Israeli side is still also the overwhelming majority.

"at any price"

the only price is to stop the murdering of Palestinians. but Israelis feel it is their god given right to periodically excise large parts of the population of helots.

Something needs to change. There is a reason this has been going on for so many years. A new strategy that is grounded in reality would be a start. Nobody is going back to their homes during the Nakba.
I don't disagree with the this, but the State of Israel's settlements have expanded so much that two states are kind of impossible. And there's no way these groups are gonna have multi-national state.

And as a business, Hamas has had a very bad last few quarters, so it is going to be very aggressive trying to reverse this. In fact, there is probably going to be a lot of turf war violence as they brutally re-exert control.
Nothing is keeping Hamas in power more than fear. When people are scared, they elect strongmen to protect them from existential threats. This is Bush in 2004 or Trump in 2016 and probably in 2024. There's nothing uniquely Islamic about this dynamic.

They hit Karem Shalom and I can't figure any other reason besides trying to block incoming aid. Bombed by Israel and held hostage by Hamas. Sucks to be in Gaza.

how dare Hamas shoot at our soldiers who are sniping children all day every day and firing tank blasts at paramedics. not sure if its possible to be more insufferably entitled.

Sounds like they won't get there on a hostage deal, and Rafah very soon (with Biden's conditions).

Think this was all stuff predicted in here. The Hezbollah situation being one of the obvious other ones.

the confirmed rapes perpetrated by hamas on oct 7 were highly ungentlemanly acts, and the organisation must be brought to justice

israel cannot live next door to a government that targets israelis for rape and murder, and whose leader says that oct 7 was a dress rehearsal for the main event
