Well the fact that it's nearly 3am on the East Coast didn't stop Donald Trump for seeing your question and wanting to answer, that man is doing some TWEETING right now
tbf maybe he was just doing some lines with Junior
According to Science™, after late nights spent tweeting Trump is less likely to be happy and more likely to be angry the next day. His odds to win reelection also average a slight decline the following day and his public statements and Tweets get less interaction from the public.
This is the whole damn problem the only thing Republican senators fear is getting primaried from the right. They have zero accountability to actually make their constituents' lives better - because their base only cares about one metric - pissing off liberals. If the base's lives get worse, they just blame liberals. The whole system is broken.
"Sadopopulism" is the notion that you're doing half of populism. You promise people things, but then when you get power you have no intention of even trying to implement any policy on behalf of the people. Instead, you deliberately make the suffering worse for your critical constituency. The people who got Trump into office, for example, are traditional Republican voters plus people in counties who are doing badly in terms of health care and other measures, and who need help.
Under Trump, of course, things will just get worse in terms of both the opioid addictions and in terms of wealth inequality. But that's OK, because the logic of sadopopulism is that pain is a resource. Sadopopulist leaders like Trump use that pain to create a story about who's actually at fault. The way politics works in that model is that government doesn't solve your problems, it blames your problems on other people -- and it creates the cycle that goes around over and over and over again. I started talking about sadopopulism because I got tired of people talking about populism.
This is the truest thing I've ever read about the current state of right-wing politics.
I don't want to hear the Director of National Intelligence (current or former) quoted again like it's any more likely to be true than the drivel that comes out of Trump's mouth.
Reality, right now: Donald Trump is president and there are not weddings
Donald Trump: "No, no, you have to re-elect me to have weddings, only Joe Biden will stop weddings"
dems and pps who are undecided... hop on the giant red wave that is coming .....vote for freedom and against communism
trololol
Spoiler:
Do you realize that there are way less undecided voters after first hand witnessing the moron in chief for 4 years producing failure after failure? But keep on dreaming!
At least he is staying in the 1950s time period with the anti-communism push as a Trump supporter. He really wants that society where the little woman stays at home and have his drink ready after a day of work fighting the commies. Tick Tock for that inane fantasy!
Lol, nohands has no idea what "communism" means, he's ignored me the last couple of times I asked him if he could define it. He just heard on Fox news that it's a bad thing, so now he just runs around screaming "if you elect Biden there will be communism" like a good brainwashed little cultist.
yikes. looks like the trump 2020 message has gone from economy is good to biden has dementia to biden is a commie and covid is a nothingburger (that i had to go to the hospital for and have an expensive cocktail of medicine for). tough scene
I am very happy with Trump and his follower's choice of messaging this time around. They just need to plow forward with it even further a few more days and we are good to go. I did notice a bunch of the Trumpderps here have gone kind of silent, so perhaps they can see what is coming. The ones talking have a healthy dose of dummy so hopefully that approach will continue to be used hard core by Trump and his followers. More Hunter and communism stuff! Tick Tock!
I'm sure the diehards will be very swayed by Trump's version of reality and walk away from this thinking they're breaking the law by being outside and COVID will disappear in a week or two, but "trust me, you are locked down and COVID is not a thing" is probably not a persuasive message to swing voters in Wisconsin right now
