I was thinking of legal definitions. You are right that some things not meeting the legal definition could have some level of non-consent, although birth control could be used in many of those.

I wasn't trying to discount anything related to rape though, just saying that I didn't include those in my definition of irresponsibility.

Also, saying something is irresponsible is not saying it's terrible or should be punished.
And the reason any of this came up is because I was feeling protective of children from terrible parents (which is most of them, IMO).

Grunching this argument about irresponsible women a bit. At some point in pregnancy there may be a discussion, but early abortions are before 6 weeks and the "baby" is 0.15 inches long. There's nothing irresponsible about having sex and then aborting that. Until fairly recently no one would have thought any different. The Catholic Church used to consider abortion a sin only after the quickening for **** sake. The clump of cells being a person is a modern phenomenon pushed by right-wing churchy *******s.

Astounding. You have no idea what may have changed in a person's life. It's amazing that you would even presume that a person undertaking a difficult and dangerous journey for the benefit of their child/children is anything other than an incredible person who will be a great benefit wherever they go and likely to raise great kids.

Do you have kids? It's hard to imagine anyone with kids seeing parents going through this and not thinking it's commendable and hoping they'd have the courage to do it themselves in the same position.
