Someone who makes all lawyers appear random by comparison.
I didn't mean random as in "of average quality among all the law professors in the United States". I meant random as in "randomly selected from among the thousands of equally intelligent professors from various disciplines who have never expressed interest in running for political office." I also was asking, quite obviously, whether he was related to you.
I'm sure your cousin is smart. I also am not surprised that he clerked at the SCOTUS if he is on the Stanford faculty. A significant percentage of the faculty at top 10 law schools clerked for the SCOTUS. If you want to be a law professor, you generally are advised to clerk for the Court if you have the opportunity to do so. As I'm sure your cousin can confirm for you, his resume is very typical for a professor at an elite law school.
I still am not sure why we are discussing whether your cousin would be a good president. I've known many people over the years with profiles that are similar to your cousin's profile. It never would have occurred to me to post their pictures on line and invite discussion about whether they would be good presidents.
If your point is that there are a lot of people with no apparent interest in running for president who would be better at the job than Biden, Bush, etc., I agree, but that isn't exactly a hot take.
