My biannual reminder. With the addition of a new book. He would have to brush up a little on a few subjects. But after a week, he would surpass all but a handful of politicians in Washington.

When you click on the link you will be expecting to disagree with me. But you won't.

What made you so angry today?

Haven't you been around here long enough to know who all the prominent Stanford law profs are?

I use swears all the time, it doesn’t mean I’m angry about anything.

Is this guy a relative of OP? Has this guy ever expressed any desire to run for political office? If not, why are we discussing whether a random law professor would make a good politician?

Pretty sure its his brother or someone closely related. I'm reading one of op s books right now. From the the personal information I have from that book, nothing else makes sense. Read Geeking, Grifting, and Gambling Through Las Vegas by David sklansky, or I guess just ask him himself. David's family story is amazing. It's of course also about a lot of math. I do not think op is a bad man tbo, i thought so for a while, but when you tuely look at the case, he got extorted, and every businessman makes mistakes. And I'm not saying this because it's Christmas, I wanted to say this for among time. But because its Christmas, and forgiveness is a big virtue, we should all start applying it. Don't judge others start with yourself, never assume anything that you do not now.

The owner of my former school went to Stanford, Steven Ott. He runs a boarding school in Switzerland. LAS, Leysin American school in Switzerland. People coming out of Harvard and Stanford are connected as you can imagine to the highest places. I was in school with some princess of Kazakhstan lol, no joke.

If the guy runs for president he would be much better than Biden or trump.

Don't judge others start with yourself, never assume anything that you do not now. I have done mistakes myself, you did probably too, everyone makes them. We not there to judge. All I can say is we should be grateful this site exists, because of op. And because we are so close to the business we witnessed some mistakes. I cannot tell you how many mistakes witnessed in my own family or circle of people. It's a human virtue to make mistakes, and of course David made mistakes. See him as a human and that's it. Formula said very correctly, we can only reduce the hatred we project on others, and that saves us. Be human. Do not judge. David hasn't done anything so bad to our knowledge that is really out of line. He was looking for love and to my knowledge is still with the same person. Anyways, I have to go to bed now...I hope this all makes sense, im too lazy now to proofread.

Apologies for double posting, I had to add some things and couldn't due to timing out.

My cousin clerked for a Supreme Court justice (Blackmun) and was voted the best law teacher at a school now rated #2 (above Harvard). Hardly "random". Unless you compare him to his brother Mark.

https://www.uclahealth.org/providers/mark-sklansky

Someone who makes all lawyers appear random by comparison.

I didn't mean random as in "of average quality among all the law professors in the United States". I meant random as in "randomly selected from among the thousands of equally intelligent professors from various disciplines who have never expressed interest in running for political office." I also was asking, quite obviously, whether he was related to you.

I'm sure your cousin is smart. I also am not surprised that he clerked at the SCOTUS if he is on the Stanford faculty. A significant percentage of the faculty at top 10 law schools clerked for the SCOTUS. If you want to be a law professor, you generally are advised to clerk for the Court if you have the opportunity to do so. As I'm sure your cousin can confirm for you, his resume is very typical for a professor at an elite law school.

I still am not sure why we are discussing whether your cousin would be a good president. I've known many people over the years with profiles that are similar to your cousin's profile. It never would have occurred to me to post their pictures on line and invite discussion about whether they would be good presidents.

If your point is that there are a lot of people with no apparent interest in running for president who would be better at the job than Biden, Bush, etc., I agree, but that isn't exactly a hot take.

I also confess to a bit skepticism as to why you are directing us to the profiles of smart people with the last name of Sklansky.

An odd introduction but the article has a lot of intersting stuff in it.

Surpassing all but a handful of current politicians is far too low a bar to be of any significance.

Looks like he'd be a decent nominee for the SC or AG. Not sure about him being Presidential material, though.

This Dave guy shouldn't want any of his family running. That nominee vetting process is rough stuff. He would either be ostracized from his family for his past deranged deviant behaviors or would be so toxic as to destroy the man's chances of being nominated altogether

Should David's post be moved to the Beats, BRAGS, and variance forum ?

Ah cmon, nutella what did he really do? Nothing illegal, nothing non consensual. 99.9% of all the degens here (who attacked him) would have messed up 10 times more or even worse, if they were David Sklansky. Think of any degen poker player with a lot of power and money, in las Vegas. I mean look around you, look at this forum. They are all hypocrates, I bet at least half of them are wanking to teen porn on the internet, (legal, and most sought porn category on the internet, but everyone knows this) The thing is David took it all on the chin, he let these gossiping and attacking idiots walk all over him, on his own forum! Lol that's when you can see his qualities and manners. He could have drawn a line and said here is the line, don't cross it. He could have just thrown the towel blasted everyone off this site, but no he didn't.

You have a lawyer rococo talking to him here, we could ask him. He didn't do anything illegal, not like Berlusconi or the Prince of England (Epstein or Weinstein) Berlusconi had tons of sex parties even with underage prostitutes, while being the president of Italy for a long time, still is the most powerful man in italy. Think Kennedy, what did he do? One prostitute after the other, aged? Nobody knows. Nobody cared what he did in his personal life, as long as was somewhat legal, nobody got hurt and he was good at his profession.

Even though you have a fairly relaxed opinion of pedos, and sure - some have succeeded in politics despite being pedos, the reality is if the rando mentioned in the OP ever does run for office it is probably best if he and/or anyone who is senior in his campaign do not have a colorful history in that regard. A derp lost an unloseable election for Senate in Alabama due to this, and the guy that beat him lost to an unqualified football coach a couple years later by a ton.

A pedo by definition is someone who is attracted to children. David likes or liked women, young women, like 99% of all men. (I guess some have other kinks, or preferences) but we are talking about the average guy here.

Are you referring to the Brandi case? She was legal age and had relations with almost every famous poker player in Vegas. (I'm a little exaggerating) but yeah, gus hanson and David were among them. And?

Brandi Hawbaker, image search:
Looks like a woman, a very seductive one btw.

If he drugged and raped a 13 year old, like Roman Polanski did, I would have a huge problem with it, sure.
People are still celebrating his movies btw. But if he did what I would expect the average guy or friend would do then, no. If you're honest about it, he just did what you would expect a guy to do, somewhat, maybe by mistake maybe on purpose, it doesn't matter.

Safe to say that washoe should not be hired as a spokesperson for anyone running for office. Never thought the derp in Alabama who had his wife defend claims of anti-semitism with the impressive "one of our lawyers is a Jew" pronouncement would be a better hire than anyone else for communication, but there you go - guess there is always someone who will do messaging even worse...
