Ok, I have no clue what VIP’s and returned value has to do with guaranteed tourneys. I do not understand your absolute obsession with these. Play at another site. WSEX is not a place to play these, and that is not going to change. From what I understand, they do not even offer rake back of any kind for MTT’s so why even worry with these?

I pointed out in my post on value that if we cannot get paid than you are right the value is zero. I understand your frustration with the checks, but you got to let this tourney thing go. No need to update here, I think everyone knows this site offers not tourneys worth playing.

Ever where I have ever played PT recorded more less 35% winners and 65% losers
but on WSEX it says there are 42% winners and 58% losers. Hands are little over a million so nice size sample.

I have never seen the % of winners this high any where else. Not sure why this is. Anyone else seen these results in PT here or in other sites? Due to better players?

Leave it to ring players to say guaranteed tournaments not going off is no big thing. I am a tournament player. I prefer to play tournaments. Previously there were tournaments with cash added that I did well at that were very much worth playing. Now there's higher buyin guaranteed tournaments that never go off. So there's less value to the tournament player. The high volume ring player gets what? A tournament! Tell me how having an event involving playing a style that you don't prefer gives you value?

You should really do something about the stalling in the tourneys! It really is a killer when people keep timing out when blinds go past 100. No fun at all.... .

sticks50 has made a sport out of stalling. He's been stalling profitably as long as I can remember. Should it always be so that exploiters profit?

Near the bubble it should be hand-for-hand. But since people start stalling almost from the get go there should be a limited amount of extra time.

If I were you I would check out the IP's of the new props against regulars/previously regulars. You might get a suprise. I know for a fact that people were multiaccounting before the prop-offer and then it's not improbable at all that many has gotten themselves prop-accounts.

Obviously it is difficult and costly to find proof. But if you're not willing or able then you should either close down the prop-offer or allow it to everyone. You should not punish the honest and reward the dishonest!

ABOUT THE TOURNEYS.
I don't play them,but I think it's very bad idea to cancel guaranteed event for any reason.If there is not enough traffic - make them fewer or smaller but don't cancel them.
The overlay in the first couple will draw more players for the next.If a big overlay exist I will play them too,as well as other cash game players.
I think people planning on playing one and ending in a canceled tourney may be pissed off,leave and never come again.
That's just not the way to treat customers.
I am aware that other poker rooms are doing it too,but other people making bad business decisions is not an excuse to do it too.

Not saying it is no big deal, but if you like to play MTT's this site is not the place for it. Of course, you did well with MTT's with huge overlays, it is like free money, but where does the money come from? The site pays for them by taking money made in rake from us ring game players. Easy to see this could not continue forever.

I like playing MTT's but would not do so on this site because they have none worth playing. If you enjoy MTT's why not Star or FTP? It cost the site money to overlay these MTT's. on sites with traffic this thin it cost lots. Free lunch had to end sometime.

I agree why offer something that you know you are not going to deliver, makes no sense and only makes players mad. Do away with them, don't offer them everyday and then cancel them everyday. What purpose does this serve?

Following up on the last couple of posts...

When WSEX cancels the tournaments it makes them look CHEAP!!!

We're now on week three of the NEW 40 player minimum and tourney after tourney is cancelled...

After two days, I would have changed the minimum back to 25 but NOPE the new Jeremy management would rather stick to his guns (I guess) than admit to making a bad decision!!!
And that decision makes WSEX come off looking CHEAP!!

Then that adds fuel to the fire of why WSEX can't pay off in a timely manner!!
Do they really need to save, what is essentially, chump change with a 40 player minimum!!!

While I'm here, get rid of the Damn Turbo's....
The one tourney without the 40 player minimum is the 8pm $1000 guaranteed but it is a damn turbo!!!
Gesshhhhhh give the better players a fighting chance and not try to run everybody thru Turbo after Turbo!!!

Here it is at 1pm and there are ONLY 30 players in a ring game..

Yeah same thing here. That is it for me. I have pulled out all but just a few dollars in the site, and mvoing on. between the tables getting tougher and tougher, the reduced rake, and not being able to get paid in a timly manner, they have finally ran me off. Gl to everyone there ( you are goign to need it)

Just too tough to make any money there and the rakeback just does not make up for playing five guys that play 10 hours a day ever day. I use to stay around for the VIP's where i have scored but now that i cant get checks i see no point in that anym more, because if i do make a hit in one might be two months before i see the money.

I would say the prop players are starting to show up but it might only equal the numbers lost so far. In the micro's at one table I see 7 players not in my data base. Pokerscout shows a slight increase in numbers per day but they still can't make 40 player minimums in tornys. Feedback from my friends outside of 2+2 is they don't want anything to do with wpx anymore. Three for three.

Hooray! I went to the bank to deposit it, they said SORRY ITS FRAUDULENT! Awesome! First, it was not signed, and second, it had no magnetic ink and when they scanned it in their check reader it came back as being a fake.

More to come as I try to deal with this with WSEX.

We've heard here before about some banks rejecting checks drawn on Canadian banks because they didn't look 'right'. Yours Canadian by chance?

I feel for you, at any rate, it's been rather a long saga for you. I'm sure WSEX isn't passing fraudulent checks though ...


On a brighter note, there is a line at the bottom of the poker client today:

"All Guaranteed tounaments are now 30 Player Minimums to start."

And, I noticed they fixed it so the 'wait for bb' button is now available when you sit back in on a table after sitting out, which i've been asking for for a while.

The check i received from from a bank in the US, not Canada, and I am in the US. When i first got it I thought it looked kinda funny, like something i could make at home. The back states is has the standard security features that all checks have. First, it was NOT signed, which was a red flag. I noticed this right away, but didn't think that much of it. Second, when it was run through the check scanner at the bank, it came up as fraudulent. Legit checks use magnetic ink and barcodes that can be scanned, this didn't use anything like that.

It may have been the "processor" passing these bad checks, don't know if WSEX even sees them since they are mailed by the processor directly. WSEX needs to know who they deal with here, I cannot keep going to my bank with these kinda checks over and over if this keeps happening. I faxed it to WSEX today but didn't hear back yet, I want this resolved. THis is just rediculous now.

Well that sucks, but it's still unclear whether the check was truly fraudulent. Just because the check was printed without MICR, doesn't mean it's not a legit check; just means they have to manually input the information. Seems bizarre that a processor would print without MICR, though.

Well I will see what happens when I talk to WSX tomorrow, hopefully it can all just be worked out and we can close this saga and move on. Even without the MICR on the check, why was it unsigned? Maybe this is a new processor they are using so I would be curious if others had the same issues with the checks. I did look up the routing # and that seems to be right for the bank. Who knows, I just would like the $ I requested in July.
