I'm looking for a poker site that has a lot of players and is unlikely to get shut down because they are a.) making money. b.) accommodates to players in other countries that it is legal to play.

If it's loose that's also a plus especially for the lower levels .25/.5 and .5/1

I currently play on Bodog and i'm worried what america will do to this company.

edit: I live in the US

PS and FT have enough games for anyone. You don't need any others. Can be soft, too.

PS is #1. you can sleep good with your bankroll on there, and the games are certainly profitable enough at most levels, especially .5/1 NL

I agree with PS and FT, in that order.

Were not UB caught cheating their players?
Who would play at a site which has been inolved in cheating (basically robbing players)?

If you're a winning player, go to Tilt.

If not, come to Stars

As I understand it, it was users who cheated, not UB. Yes it was a codewriter employed with the company that started it, but that could happen at every site. UB erred in trying to cover up what happened, and in the end payed back what was proven to be taken by the superusers. Any real site is not going to actively cheat their clients. With the rake pouring in these sites are cash cow's.

Your understanding of it is the spin the compony put in thier press release. What really went on at UB and Absolute is alot worse than they will admit too.

No - my understanding is from everything that you and I have watched and read. I know that whatever UB puts out is their spin, so I do not take thatinto consideration. I just do not see anything nefarious at my mid stakes level, and to believe that UB/AP is the only place a crooked high level systems employee exists is erroneous.

Then your understanding isn't very good. Are you aware of the alleged links to previous and possibly current owners, as well as to the company (KGC) that licenses them?

Also, if you know that "to believe that UB/AP is the only place a crooked high level systems employee exists is erroneous", then could you please share the other site(s) where this is the case so we can avoid them too, please?

I would be more than happy to learn more. Where else other than 60 Minutes, and all the printed material already circulated can I find more? I've seen and read it all. As far as other sites does it not seem plausable that these and other issues could occur anywhere, and might be occuring right now? Here's where I guess I could be more educated: How does anyone know their site is totally safe? And what is safer than a site who has had a problem exposed?
I'm playing Devil's avocate here to everyone who's been predicting UB's demise and and player mass exidos and it hasn't seemed to have transpired.

If you mean you've read all the threads here, you've got all the important stuff IMO.

Of course it's plausible. However, your previous post was basically stating that there was definitely a crooked high level systems employee at another site or sites.

The thing is, AP and UB were shady sites before this ever happened. If you had asked me to pick which one of the 10 biggest sites this would be most likely to happen at, I would've chosen one of those two.

With 100% certainty? No one does.

If there wasn't possible ties to the ownership and so much uncertainty as to whether that ownership has changed, I'd be more inclined to agree with you.

The fact that people still play there doesn't prove a lot. Well, actually it proves a couple of things - there are plenty of people who don't know what happened, and there are people like you (no offence intended) who will play there anyway.

I've tended to get on people who still play there, but I do so less now with Americans. I'd still like to see you all playing elsewhere, but I do have some sympathy knowing that you don't have the greatest range of choice out there. Non-Americans who still play on those sites...WTF???

I appreciate all your comments BoBo Fett. Yes I still keep some money at UB and play there because I like the games there and do reasonably well when I get out of my own way. I've been playing less since the merger, but as I get back in I'm seeing more loose players, which makes me want to stay. Keeping just enough in there for variance. What, in your opinon, is the worst that could happen? Must be they get closed down and my assests get frozen or lost. Or do you believe there are still Superusers there?
Lastly, is it that most people's problem with UB is the fact that the owners were not out in front of this from the start and on principle people shouldn't play there?
