Anyways, that mtt schedule sounds sick, I wish you the best of luck!
Eh I mean if I just wanted to grind $ all year I wouldn't play tournaments at all. I probably have a higher hourly EV in the games I play online than I do in most live tournaments, and obviously way less variance. I think the biggest reasons I play them are to make excuses to go places I wouldn't otherwise go on vacations, and also just to break up the monotony of grinding online all year.
I'm not going to lie, it would be awesome to actually do go in/win one for reasons that go beyond the money. But I wouldn't really care if I never won one either. It's really not a huge deal to me.
But my results in live mtts are just awful so far. Maybe I have the due factor going for me? Haha I dunno.
Oh I just saw you wanted me to rate them...in order of most important to least important...travel opportunities, money, soft competition (this is basically the same thing as money I think), fame. The fame would be neat up to a point I suppose but I definitely would be annoyed if I was someone like Moneymaker in the poker world where you can't go anywhere without being hounded by people asking for autographs or pictures. I'm kind of a private person in general. I don't mind being social but I have to do it in small spurts, otherwise I just get really annoyed. I almost didn't do this thread in the first place because I thought it would be kind of annoying but I've actually enjoyed it way more than I thought I would (obviously I must be because I'm still answering questions a year after I started it
).
