WARNING: Bovada deducts over 00 from account, claims past deposit didn't go through WARNING: Bovada deducts over 00 from account, claims past deposit didn't go through

On aug 21st. I made a money transfer deposit (western union) for $3000 plus fees. I followed instructions Bovada gave me on the name of the receiver, country etc. I made the deposit in cash and received a receipt with a control number. I gave to control number to Bovada and they creidted my account with the deposit.

One week later I get an email saying the deposit didn't go through and they had deducted $3044 from my account without any warning. I called Bovada and they told me the deposit didn't go through and that I had to call western union to cancel the transaction. I called Western Union and they confirmed the deposit went through. When I check the status it shows the money was picked up. I paid cash and there was no way for me to cancel this transaction or get my money back from WU.
Bovada insists that I prove it was picked up with a report of the transaction from WU. WU website has tracking and says money was received. Bovada refuses to call WU to confirm if the payment was received.

If there was any error at all regarding this transaction, it would be on Bovada's end. Their policy is to make sure the customer takes the financial burden of an error on their end. They say they are investigating but under no circumstance should they have had the balance deducted from my account.

Cliffs:
-I deposit 3k via Western Union
-Bovada claims it didn't go through, deducts 3k+ from account w/out
warning one week later
-Western Union confirms money was picked up
-Bovada's policy is for the customer to take financial responsitbiliy on an
error on their part

Possibly a rogue 'employee' that just ran off with the cash.

Good luck, and don't give up. They might just be giving the 'employee' the benefit of the doubt when they shouldn't be. .

Bodog Becky still posts here from time to time, hopefully she'll see this and help out.

Yeah I mean this happened 3 days ago and as of now they haven't made right on this. What's really tilting is the fact that they decide to put the loss on the customer when clearly the customer did nothing wrong.

It's not like this was a credit card deposit, it was a cash deposit.

This happened to me for a much smaller amount. I even posted about it in detail here on 2+2. I was able to get my money back from WU, and just paid back Bovada via MG. If what you say is true, I hope you get your money back. Please keep us updated.

Of course Bovada will not call WU as Bovada can not do business with WU. A payment processor does business with WU out of legal necessity.

To me this seems simple enough to solve. Provide Bovada with this information. Screenshots for the win. Have you tried submitting this as proof and been denied?

Yeah I actually meant just go to the WU webpage and type in the info of the money transaction. They just say its for a special team and they'll investigate. Yes I sent in screenshots etc.. Still haven't been paid/resolved

They better rectify the customer taking financial responsibility if it is their employee picking up transfers that has taken off with the money.

^^ I agree, if one of their employees stole your money, Bovada definitely needs to credit the $3,000 back into your account. You may want to post some screenshots of your WU paperwork, and also something from their website stating that the money was picked up, obviously blacking out any personal information.

Almost exact thing happened to me...I made a 400$ dep on aug 21st. It went throught they credited me with 412$ with fee. I loggon aug 28th to find the 412 removed from my account. I call them they say that my name wasnt 100% correct - I use Mike instead of michael. They tell me I need to call western union. I call them, they change the name, and it takes bovada over 12 hours to reconfirm the deposit. In the mean time, the bets i wanted to make that day but couldnt, go 4/5. They offer me no compensation for the BS I had to go through. I send several emails, and finally they offer me a 10% reload bonus with a 1k cap. I got my money, and I am sure you will to. but yes, major BS headache.

Wow, thanks for posting this as I always figured WU/MG was the most guaranteed way to deposit. They seem to always make sure they have the actual money before they credit anything to anyone's account so I'm completely shocked by this. Like someone stated above, I had a misspelling of the Receiver name, missing one letter and they couldn't do the transaction or credit to my account until I called WU to get it fixed.

Guess there is no such thing as a guaranteed deposit method, anything can happen, hope everything works out and you get this resolved with some kind of cash bonus for your trouble. I had a small WU withdrawal delayed and they compensated me with a cash bonus after I asked. Be sure to ask about some kind of compensation for your trouble because I doubt they volunteer it.

Last time I deposited through w.u it didn't go through. I went to pick up the money a week later and was told that it was picked up a a day or so ago. I called bovada and they said they would contact me back asap. 15 minutes later the money was credited to my bovada acct. I was kinda pissed they didn't tell me that they decided to deduct it many days later especially after saying it didn't go through( which it didn't initially). I'm pretty sure I got flagged and that is why though. Have u deposited through w.u a few times recently cpar?

I've only deposited via WU twice, the first one with no issues

Well I'm happy to say this was resolved and Bovada credited my account back. There wasn't any explanation as to what happened but if this happens to anyone else just know it can be resolved.

Hello and I'm glad to hear you got your money back...it would have been VERY disturbing if you didn't.

In a similar vein, why do you use Western Union? I ask because i have had no major issues just using my bank debit card. Coincidentally my name is spelled incorrectly on my debit card (1 letter off) and it hasn't created an issue yet for me as I've deposited and received from Bovada without issue.

Fwiw, I would avoid using a debit card in the future when depositing anywhere online -- the processors are notoriously shady and every so often they run off and make unauthorized charges on a bunch of depositors' accounts. It can be a hassle to straighten out because you might not realize at first.

WU = your money + fee is paid for

Debit card = your money + 4.9% "fee" + any international transaction fee your bank will charge you.

Gotcha...now those are good reasons...thanks for the information...

I didn't realize Bovada paid the transaction cost through Western Union...that could make a big difference compared to the 4.9% fee, if the transaction is large...

Thanks Jim, I have liked the convenience of using the debit card...but if indeed a bunch of charges were to show up I would see them, but like you say it is a hassle and I don't need that...I assume this has happened to you. I can recall it happened to me way back in about 2000 or so when I was depositing into other online casinos. I sorted it out, but it was a headache.

This a good point which is why I use a prepaid reloaded debit card to deposit. I would suggest going that route versus using a debit card linked to an actual bank account.

to add, a few times I caught brovada overcharging me for rt/mt payout fee. No big deal, and was resolved almost immediately, but only b/c I am vigilant.
