how is BOL able to serve US players?

http://www.pokerscout.com/PokerSites.aspx

says the network they're on has software provided by publicly traded company

That's been asked many times, and no one really knows, but it's assumed that has something to do with why they say they're on the "Hero" network.

They deny they are on APN pubicly as does APN deny that BOL is on their Network.

Pokerscout added them to that list after I contacted them and requested they add it in the hopes that more players would be aware of their shady practices.

Ok so I have alot to add to this thread. Like OP I had my account shut down by BOL and was accused of chipdumping. Unlike OP I had been playing on BOL for a while and had already cashed out a mid 5 figure sum before this. I had about $20k in my account when it was shut down last weds. Since weds I have been relentless with my phone calls to them and have dealt with much incompetence and many lies from BOL support. However yesterday I managed to finally get the head manager on the phone. He seemed like he was genuinely concerned with my situation and promised to get on it. He agreed with me that it would be unfair to accuse me of chipdumping without releasing my hh's in full for my review. I had to call him back a few more times (when he said he would call me and hadn't) but I just now got it resolved. The poker room support has apparently finished my review and found that in fact I did not ever chipdump. I told the manager that he should be very concerned about OP's situation as he has been made to wait much longer than me. He assured me he would. I have been in contact with OP as well to keep him up to date on my situation. Hopefully they do the right thing and get him paid out right away.

Not surprised about flash's post. It seems they try to find ways not to pay out from the poker room. We've seen multiple threads regarding everything from alleged chip dumping to sharing IP's to not having account verified.

MAJOR NEWS AND UPDATE: I will be posting this in all of my threads. A few days ago I got a PM from someone of 2+2 saying they had the same story as me. I ended up talking to this person and his name is Jamin Stokes and he is a well known professional poker player. I promised I would not release this information or his name until he told me I could do so because he asked me not to do so. He also was going to go public with his story today if he did not get an answer by today. This exact same thing happened to him. They froze his account accused him of chip dumping and would not send him the hand histories. Luckily he was more fortunate than me and today he was able to get them to unfreeze his account. He personally told them about my situation and how it has taken longer for me and he said the manager said that he would personally look into it right away. This sounds like amazing news but I will not be too optimistic until I am able to touch my money. Thank you Jamin Stokes for letting me post your name publically and helping me out in this situation.

Thanks for the update and keep them coming.

Hopefully this will stop others from making a deposit on BetOnline if nothing else.

Cashed out just under 2k the other day from Tiger Gaming. Totally have my fingers crossed. The worst part of this whole thing is that I really like the site and the software. I am just getting back into online poker after a few years off and I would like to make Tiger my primary.

Just hope everything goes ok.

You'll get your payout in apr 6 wks. Next time don't keep such a large balance there. They allow 1 username per skin, so its better to have multiple accounts with smaller balances instead. That way you can deposit on one account while waiting for a withdrawal from another.

I think OP will eventually get paid too...now that BOL realizes their bluff didn't work and that OP isn't going to just walk away. BOL will come back with some lame excuse so they can save face amongst the poker community. Then they will try every tactic in the book to slowpay him, but eventually they WILL pay the entire 65K. Just like APN has been doing for years now.

The good thing is that since APN has joined BOL, the volume of players has increased 195% since BF. Thats's a huge increase! Surely it would have been enough to turn things around for them had they not started scamming players and creating all this negative publicity...talk about -EV

Its a shame so many people put so much stock in their ratings because its now clear their strategy is to report every issue about all sites that don't pay them not to, while using that to boost up those sites they're financially affiliated. Anyways GL to OP - this is the one I went down swinging for and am now limited pretty much to choosing a few posts per day, so very much hope you get paid.
I read your post from SBR. I thought it was well written, interesting and quite relevent to this thread. Perhaps you could post it here also?

I can attest that 2+2 won't ban you for it

BetOnline was a down for several hours the other night doing an upgrade. It was very strange timing as this was probably Saturday night US time and wasn't announced as scheduled. I wanted to check out what changed but first I've never used their poker room before, and second I live in a country where gambling is restricted and ISP blocked - I can circumvent this no problem to access websites but when it comes to poker I haven't figured it out yet (no issue because most sites still work - this one of those few that doesn't).

Just wondering if anyone here can do a mini investigation and check:

1) is BetOnline and Action still sharing players?

These ones I'm not sure if a good idea to test lol - but if someone has the capability or a way to confirm:

2) Can two accounts playing on the same IP at BetOnline still sit at the same table?

3) Can you still open an action poker account and a BetOnline account and from a single computer sit at the same table?

This isn't exactly off topic to this thread (sorry if anyone takes it that way) but I don't want to do speculation further in the forum to explain my reasons for asking this but perhaps will later. Any help checking this out appreciated.

Not sure which one you are referring to, I posted many. If you have something to comment on and prefer to do it here instead of there, I have no problem at with you cross quoting my posts from anywhere else. I'm following this topic 5 places and can respond anywhere.

I was playing on APN during these upgrades and the players from BOL were all "sitting out" and only players from APN were dealt into the hands. It was strange. Things appear to be back to normal now and currently all skins (including BOL) are sharing players again. Chat has never been shared between APN and BOL players and still isn't.

Someone with a very small balance might be interested in testing 2) and/or 3) Its against the site's TOA so would be highly risky... If caught, you would be at risk of having your account frozen, your funds confiscated and possibly being banned for life. But with all the shadiness the site is demonstrating, it would be good for us to know...and I don't think most players want to play there anyway.

According to Pokerscout, ~4000 players online and ~400 cash players (during peak hrs)

They describe the site as small and the year-over-year change in player traffic as interesting.

I just checked again and BetOnline and APN are still sharing player pools.

I am still able to open both BetOnline and APN at the same time.

I do NOT have funds on the sites and I'm a US player so I couldn't try and sit at the same tables but both clients did open on the same PC, ISP, and at the same time.

The increased player traffic is solely the result of BetOnline adding the Poker Room. They had a lot of Sportsbettors already and all they had to do was offer Poker to those Sportsbettors and do a little bit of marketing and it increased the pitifull APN traffic quickly. Also the fact that they advertise that they accept Credit Cards from US players also has a hand in the huge increase over the last few months.

Yes for "play money" table. Using the program "sandboxie"

I don't know if it works for real money table.
