home depot offers pretty decent pay and pretty good benefits from what i hear. i wouldn't mind getting a job there for the time being.

If he is a grinder, and a professional poker player (he would have to be to move to play poker) who thought it was worthwhile to move to continue making a living, there would be little to no chance that he would go busto (even on an extremely bad run). You would have to include the word idiot (where he refused to move down) for your scenario to have a chance to play out.

A grinder is playing 12+ tables at stakes that he is comfortable to make a steady small winrate. He doesn't really play a really high variance style. If he is a professional, he practices good bankroll management. If he is playing twelve tables, he has at the very least 24 buy ins for a bankroll. Even if he gets stacked at all his tables, he will move down a level. He will then have 24 buy ins at a lower level that he has an even better winrate at. He will then build it up. If he gets stacked at all twelve tables again, he will move down a level where he will again have 24 buy ins at a level that he has an even bigger winrate at. This could theoretically keep happening all the way down to 10/25c, where any professional poker player will destroy and could easily twelve table $2500 a month.
Again, you would have to add the word idiot for the scenario to happen. And then I would laugh 'cause he is an idiot.

69 is right you have to be an idiot to go busto- but pulling 12 tables out of your ass as the number of tables at minimum a grinder plays is pretty funny
