Okay, this is me not being unbiased here. This is coming from me as an online poker player with a suggestion after being upset at the changes at Full Tilt Poker, where I have been playing full time for the better part of this year. Yes, I'm a nit. Whatever.

It seems that there's an opportunity for PokerStars to gain a competitive advantage and take in a good chunk of players from FTP who are upset over the changes in RB and bonuses and all that jazz.

So it's my suggestion to Stars to start a SuperNova Quest promotion starting now (well, real soon!) until the end of the year to provide an incentive for players coming over to make SuperNova before the year is out, rather than waiting for all of them to show up on January 1st.

I'll just make the math obviously simple:

"X" is the cost associated with the promotion

"Y" is the amount of rake obtained from players between now and Dec 31st that otherwise would not have been made by PokerStars

Y - X > $0

Makes sense to me. Is the reality of this promotion something that Stars can implement? Or even really want to consider? Who knows. But they are listening so why not make a suggestion and maybe a little noise.

PokerStars can win by gaining 3 months of revenue from players coming over now rather than waiting to Jan 1st to start their SN run. Players win by starting their quest now rather than later.

Just my 2 cents.

Sounds like a good idea to me.

They'd have to make it for all Supernova chasers, not just those coming over. So Y - X may not be > 0.

They'd also have to give something the people who've been grinding 9 months of the year so far to get to SN. Remember how badly the UK supernova promotion went down with non-UK players!

Stars would definitely steal a ton of players from FTP with this. So if stars goal was to crush FTP this is a +EV move. However stars goal is to make money, and I think this would negatively impact them if they did this, cuz there would be a TOOOOON of pissed off people who already play at stars. "Ive grinded all year long to try and make SN, and now you reward people who havent!!!" (remember all the pissed off people after the UK SN promotion?)

One thing is super evident when you read any zoo thread. Everyone thinks they are entitled and if they feel they arent getting something as awesome as someone else is getting, they are super pissed off about it and threaten to strike and boycott and make people wade through 3K posts all about how pissed of they are.

so while this would be good for you and the people who want to leave FTP, I think it would cause a HUGE **** storm and piss tons of people off.

The only way it would be "fair" in the sense that it would keep people from bitching, is if stars did like a 2 week double VIP promo, to make it easier to get to SN, but theyd prolly lose a ton of money from everyone else grinding the hell out of those 2 weeks, that it wouldnt be worth it for them
