rake / fee for a tournament

Hi ive just had an arguement with willhill support , over something silly really.
Easy question.
can the fee for a tournament be called its rake ? i think it can but "george" at willhill says it isnt.

You can call it an elephant if you like.
Point being, it's sort of a silly question to answer without any context. I mean you *can* call it whatever you like, and I would have no problem with an argument that it's the same as/similar to rake. But that would also depend on how we're defining rake, and what this pertains to.

Yes, you can consider a tournament fee to be the rake.
Either way, people know what you're talking about.
