i played over 215k hands of 2/4 6max on FT last year and the avg rake per hand was 0.142$. i moved to stars this month and over 14.600 hands i've paid 0.117$/hand. so where is the difference coming from, is it because the games are tighter? is it just the small sample? the only difference in actual rake is for 5 player pots where PS rakes 2$ max while FT rakes 3$.

I'm pretty sure stars gives 5c rake reductions through to the $3 cap, like 8 of them or something.

The games aren't very tight at stars... more like loose aggressive. 1 rake difference I know of is that stars takes $1 at $20, and $2 once the $19 left hits $40. FT takes $2 once the entire pot+rake hits $40. Basically means a pot needs to get to 11BB to be raked $2 on stars, but only 10BB on tilt.

The difference is almost entirely due to table tightness.

sounds like the Stars sample isn't big enough. love to know if someone has 200k hand samples to compare from both.
