I don't *think* this is a big deal, and but it's never happened before, and given the givens, I wanted to see if this has happened to anyone else prior to say the last few weeks:

Dear sethypooh21,

We were recently informed by one of our check providers that an account has been closed with an issuing bank. As a result, the following uncashed check has been cancelled and funds re-credited to your PokerStars account:

Transaction ID: xxxxxxx
Amount: xxxxxxxx
Mailed date: 18-Nov-08

This credit shows up in your PokerStars Cashier History as "REDEEM_RET PURCHASE".

PokerStars uses a number of processors and a variety of methods for players to cash out their funds. You can rest assured that your money is always safe in your PokerStars account, and you will always have access to your funds and the ability to cash out.
If you decide to cashout via paper check again, your check will be issued from a different bank.

Please accept our sincerest apologies for the inconvenience this may cause you.

Best Regards,

PokerStars Payments Department

That sucks if you needed the money for dec rent or something. Im not sure if you able but the echeck takes about a day and is the best cashout option right now. (150kvpps needed from what ive heard). i would recommend that. Ive cashed out once with a check. it was pretty fast and i never seen that beofre.

This happened before, I think it was in the summer??? It didn't happen to me, but it was the same scenario. Everything was fine immediately after using the other processors.

This is what I figured, I just wanted confirmation from someone that it had happened prior to the UIGEA reg stuff as well.

Which processor was it that got shut down?

Feel free to PM me if you don't want to post anything too revealing in the thread.

I'm also curious, if you don't mind sharing..

I cashed out by check on November 20th. I received the check on November 22nd and deposited it the same day. I haven't heard anything from the bank, or PokerStars, but the funds still haven't cleared.

Please do not name banks. Always ask for a PM instead.

Just so people do not start to panic here, it was a VERY SMALL BANK. 99.9% of you will be fine.

PM me if you need the name.

Got that email today too. Not sure what the deal is but the money has been in my bank account for over a week. And Stars won't let me withdraw for 48 hours because this 'refund' is considered a deposit. Uh, I need my money, especially if that check turns out to be bad.

My apologies for naming the bank, and thank you for the several helpful PMs, and to the mods for editing my post. I've been assured my check is fine, was just posting to notify that I cashed out around the same time as you guys here and the information that went with the transaction. Hope all turns out well for everyone else.
