Co-editor of that site here

I don't think "dressed up to look like it has original and breaking news" is fair or accurate; we received the info at the same time this thread does, it doesn't say it's original or breaking, and it links to this thread to for more information (we are pretty anal about linking to sources or further reading), and the text of the article does say it was a public announcement.

[small]And also we were the first to officially report on the name 'zoom poker' and that really was exclusive [/small]

I'm hoping the players can choose which they prefer. I found slide makes me feel ill. Fade is my favourite but i'm sure everyone is different. I hope you aren't only going to give players one option. That would suck! (unless the option is fade)

There probobly won't be any 4max games in Zoom. The 4max game was just a staff test game on the test site. The real play will all be 6max and 9max, and the fine.

I'm ok with people playing more than 4 tables if the minimum buyin is at least 40bbs. If they want to play 8% of hands and play like ****, I'll be fine owning them 24/7.

Having a 6 table max would seem better than 4 to me. What is the minimum buyin btw? It's been so long since I played Rush that I forgot what they had. I thought it was 40bbs. That seems best.

Guess I misinterpreted the comment. 4 is the max tables you can play at least in one pool.

In Rush games Marc Karam used to play 12 tables across 3 limits, and was one of the loosest regs in the game. Played a Lag style.

50bbs is best imo. Rush had 40bbs and Stars should def take that as the bare minimum.. 30bbs or less and it will be russian and spanish shortstack invested (which it already is with 40bbs minimum)

That's what I figured. Doesn't seem reasonable to me that a small (unknown) number of players will have access to a HUD, whilst the rest won't.

I've no problem if nobody has a HUD or if everyone has (access to) one - that's another discussion, but I'm not sure I want to play on such an uneven playing field.

Min buy-in and number of tables is pretty unrelated. Both issues.

The great thing about RUSH was the speed of it. Limiting the number of players to 4 allowed people to still get in over 1000 hands pretty easily at a single limit (Full Ring), but prevented a number of people playing more tables than they could reasonably handle and slowing the games down.

If the games slow down there is no point playing Zoom.

well, you should blame the guys of HM for delivering so bad in the past, it isn`t on pokerstars to restrict the HUD use because on developer isnt ready.

Im btw. pretty sure they will add zoom HUDs in PT3 when it will start if this your point (it`s sounds better if you can say "our new product was the first" )

Ill say it a gain, fixed buyin amounts and problem is solved. Everybody buys in for 100bb, no more no less. Really, this should be the standard in poker cash games. Same for deep and cap tables, everybody buys in for the same amount.

The problem arises really because PT have (at the moment) released the HUD only to those people with a Beta license. Nothing to do with HEM.

They may; I don't know. If they were in a position to release PT4 they'd probably keep it for PT4 only to encourage upgrades. I'd imagine almost all their developers are working on PT4 bug-fixes, so they may not have the bandwidth to add features to PT3 even if they wanted to.

RUSH was flawed with its pre-flop timer. If you give everyone a 5 second clock pf and 10 post-flop, I don't see why a 6 table max would slow anything down. It'd be significantly faster than RUSH was.

i am just wondering, is the minimum buyin really that relevant?

when u leave and get back to zoom, do you start again with the minimum buyin or with the buyin you left?
