This is very odd , usually I don't like to post rants but this is very frustrating for me since its Christmas time and soon New years Eve.

So around week ago I achieved Platinum Star on PokerStars and when I tried to login I saw that my account got locked. I contacted support and got this email:

I told that I live nearby University and I use public Wifi hotspot which are very common troughout city where I live . Then they replied with additonal email :

I sent them requested pictures same day , and now for over week I can't play , withdraw or basicly do anything with my account . I sent them several emails asking to speed up process or report on update , since all they asked was 2 pictures which I provided. Each time they respond the same automated email that I will be contacted soon . I had money on my account which was part for christmas gifts and part for new year eve and now I had to change alot of plans . Is this normal ? I requested in one email that they give me some bonus for all this , but I guess it is long shot . Now I just want to get to bottom of this .

Maybe someone from PokerStars here will finally look into this matter , and explain me why I got my account playing rights revoked in first place and why does it take weeks to verify two pictures.

I opened it around month ago . I made first deposit around the same time . Total I had around 10+ deposits / withdrawals without any problems . All deposits withdrawals were made from my verified Skrill account .

horrorstory1 appears to have played their last tourny a few days before u opened ur account. They also cannot receive xfers so their account is more than likely closed

best just truthfully admit that u opened the account, ilonchix, in the new name (gf/sister/mother/whatever) to get back on playing, rather than just waste everyone's time in attempting to sort this out

I have no relation to the player horrorstory1 . I did not look what he played nor I know the case they have with that player.

I have nothing to admit but the fact I stated above . And I have done nothing wrong , and I don't want to waste anyones time . I want someone from PokerStars to clear this issue and since they are ignoring me I hoped someone here could help me . I never made any accounts on PokerStars before and I can go through any steps to verify that .

its the holidays. Give it some time, they are already busy on normal business days. . If you did nothing wrong. it shouldnt be a problem.

this exact situation happened to me on stars many years ago. they wanted to know why three other sn's were being used at my IP. all I had to do was send in my dad, sister, and friends names corresponding to the accounts with their date of birth and small info like that (nothing like SS or bank info). matter was taken care of in the same hour....
most likely the delay is being caused by the holidays as someone stated. They will reinstate your account if you are not hiding anything, they have no reason not to. just be patient. thats why sites that have phone numbers are useful but those are few and far found.

Stars let you make 10 withdrawals in your first month before asking for ID? Stars is slacking imo.

This is not to say you're guilty/innocent of multi-accounting. It just seems weird that your account wasn't investigated/frozen earlier if you were cashing out that often.
If you're entirely innocent and there is truly no real-world connection between you and the apparently banned screenname, you probably just need to wait for support staff to recover from their New Year hangovers. If you've heard nothing in the next few days, try emailing them again and give us an update here.

He lumped deposits and withdrawals together. So could easily be 8 deposits/ 2 withdrawals. Still seems like a lot of transactions in a months time.

exactly what I was thinking. he just said 10 deposits/withdrawals. he could have made as few as 1 withdrawal, which they would have allowed without providing ID if it was for a small amount and the PS rep was being lazy. I do agree with you that this is usually protocol for these sites to always request that info before cashouts. I myself tend to send all that info when I sign up for a site that I know I will be playing on for a while, just to avoid any headaches

IF there were as few as 0, he wouldnt have written he had 10+ deposits/ withdrawals. He WOULD have JUST said deposits.
