You play on a gaming site and such outages are already covered in the T&C's. Not sure if your sticking on the uber outraged act for fun or are legitimately acting this way.

I do have to laugh at the bonus and compensation (other than roll forwards, backs) claim.

I think most people here don't want an apology. They just want to know what's going on and for the problem to be fixed so they can get back to playing. Thanks for keeping us updated Baard.

Tournament Cancellation

If PokerStars has to cancel a tournament for any reason, we make a concerted effort to compensate players in the fairest and most equitable way possible. There are three different possible compensation methods, depending on the exact circumstances and timing of the cancellation. Which method is applied is the sole discretion of PokerStars.

Rollback

In this case, we are "rolling back" the tournament as if it never happened - if you were registered for the tournament, you get your buy-in and fees (including rebuys, add-ons, and knockout entry if any) refunded. Also, the buy-in is refunded in exactly the same format with which you bought in. For instance, if you bought into a tournament using T$10 and $15 cash, then you would get back T$10 and $15 cash.

The other two scenarios are called "Roll Forward." That means that we are distributing the money from the tournament based at least partially on the results.

Roll Forward (No Players in the Money)

If a tournament is cancelled and we do a "roll forward" before the players are in the money, we refund each remaining player his tournament fee (and knockout bounty if appropriate), and then divide up the prize pool based on the following formula:
•50% of the award pool is distributed evenly among all remaining players
•50% of the award pool is distributed proportionally according to the chip count

Here's an example:

You were in a $33 ($30 entry +$3 tournament fee) buy-in tournament (with rebuys). There were initially 200 players, and with rebuys the total prize pool was $9000. Suppose at the time of cancellation there were 100 players remaining, and your chip count was 37,500. The total chips in play were 300,000.

Prize pool to be divided equally: $9,000.00/2 = $4,500.00
Prize pool to be divided based on chip count: $9,000.00/2 = $4,500.00

Your share in money equally divided: $4,500.00/100 = $45.00
Your share based on chip count: $4,500.00 x (37,500/300,000) = $562.50
Your tournament fee refunded: $3.00
Total money refunded to your account: $610.50

Note that if you bust out before the tournament is cancelled, you receive no refund.

When we do a "roll forward", all refunds are in cash (not T$).

Roll Forward (Players are in the Money)

When a tournament is cancelled, and players have already reached the money, we refund each remaining player his tournament fee (and knockout bounty if appropriate), and then divide up the prize pool based on the following formula:
•Each player receives the minimum prize not yet awarded at the time of cancellation
•The remainder of the award pool distributed is distributed proportionally according to the chip count

Here's an example:

When the tournament was cancelled, there were 15 players remaining, and your chip count was 37,500. The total chips in play were 300,000. The remaining prize pool was $11,000.00 and the minimum prize was $250.00.

Prize pool to be divided equally: $250.00 x 15 = $3,750.00
Prize pool to be divided based on chip count: $11,000.00 - $3,750.00 = $7,250.00

Your "minimum prize" share: $250.00
Your share based on your chip count: $7,250.00 x (37,500/300,000) = $906.25
Your tournament fee refunded: $3.00
Total money refunded to your account: $1,159.25

Note that if you bust out before the tournament is cancelled, you receive no refund of your entry fee. Of course, if you placed in the money before the tournament was cancelled, you keep that money.

Heads-Up Sit & Go Tournaments

Heads-up Sit & Go tournaments (HU S&Gs) are handled differently because of their special nature. Particularly if one player stays connected while the other player does not, the first player can effectively win the tournament while the second player is disconnected. For that reason, we reserve the right to do a chip count distribution of any HU S&G that we believe was substantially affected by our site's downtime.

Fine Print
1.If a tournament with a guaranteed prize pool is cancelled, we will refund only the total buy-ins, not the guaranteed amount.
2.If a tournament with Fixed or Team Pro bounties is cancelled, we will refund only the regular prize pool (and knockout pool if applicable), not the Fixed or Team Pro bounties.
3.Tournaments which award tickets, satellite entries, or material prizes in addition to cash will only include the cash in the refund amount. Non-cash prizes will not be included in the roll forward or rollback equation.
4.PokerStars reserves the right to alter cancellation payouts or to alter this policy

Another update wouldn't hurt now stars since your 30 minute outage for getting it fixed is up and when ppl log in they are on break at half past the hour with no explanation

It doesn't seem clear whether people would return to the game or it be rolled forward

THE BIGGEST POINT IS

there is NO MENTION ON YOUR SITE

about anything to do with the technical issue, and only 10% of players probably visit 2p2 if that, so your really leaving alot of people in the dark in regards to this.

Yep, Stars not saying sorry and not informing people via their site is a disgrace.

Anyway the problem isn`t solved so i would recommend not to register in any sng/mtt.
Right now i tried to cashout but when i press submit nothing happens, probably another server restart will come...

Hello again,

Normal service has been restored, and tournaments that were running at the time dealing stopped have been rolled forward. Spin & Gos were rolled forward using whichever multiplier was drawn for that specific tournament.

For all tournaments, the rake paid by the players still in the tournament was also included in the amounts the players received.

Tournaments that were scheduled to start during the downtime have also been cancelled, and the buyin + rake has been returned to the players registered.

We would like to apologize for the inconvenience caused by these problems.

Thanks,
Baard

Anyone else get insane lag in the last 30-60min ?

Is it just me or does Stars seem to be a massive piece of bloatware lately?

What computer are you using it on? I'd be surprised if the system requirements for running PS are significant since they'd only be hurting themselves if they did. I do agree however that PS7 is a laggy piece of **** often (opening up the cashier or closing down the client are 2 things for me that often take multiple clicks or seconds since PS7, and my computer is a beast so that's not the issue).

same thing here, I use pretty old pc, but PS6 was working just fine - had some problems if I was running 3+ poker softs and HM2, other than that everything was smooth. Now just pokerstars and HM2 are working really bad, mini-freezing ("lag" means issue with connection to the server, not software itself) on almost every action.
