I tried using VPN which resulted in frozen stars account. GG says they're accepting players from india, but I cannot prove my Indian address properly. Do you know how strict they are with approvals and cashout policy?

So my question is, can anybody suggest an option where could I play some good old online poker ? 😁

P.S. sorry for TLDR post. God bless you guys and have a run as hot as Pamela back in a day.

hey guys! unfortunately the new Aurora theme in pokerstars is creating tons of problems for me.

thats me:
- hyper satellite sng grinder 12-18 tabling, 4-5 hrs/day

- ~6% roi this year

- felt very comfortable on stars the last years,
but things get worse as we all know

- the games structure i grind is exclusivly on stars (what i know),
which make a switch to other sites not possible imo

- my goal for 2021 was to aim for going professional (20-30k$)

- volume and mindset got very very good the last months......

... and then aurora came and crushed souls!

keeping up the volume is not possible with the aurora performance. the "cache deleting" hack does not work for me anymore. really seeking for practical tipps now. 6 of my 8 years of poker career i was losing player, the last 2 years where very ok for me and i started earning money.

now it seems that i cant move on to improve in the format that i love. i got a 5digit bankroll now but dont know where to go now. i still love stars but it is very likely they will continue to f up the site.

i do not enjoy to play cash game, i love icm... also i was thinking about small field mtts but it feels like starting from zero. might sound stupid but it just feels like i found my place in poker and now they kick my ass off the club.

has anyone similar experiences?

Hey guys!
hope you are well

I havent played in a while but since I am stuck in Greece with shitty wifi and not able to do my gaming streams, I was thinking to check out the current poker situation with potentially new fishes in from the lockdowns everywhere.

Could you give me a brief overview of your top 3 recommendations to start poker again now? I will start NL10 and probably not get much further than NL50 - so any room with a lot of fishes on Shorthanded tables in that range would be great. A good bonus would be nice too, but having more fishes def is more important.

Thanks
Chris

Be mindful of the Greek regulatory and tax rules. You are taxed on daily net, and larger operators deduct at source.

Ah I will fly out next week and not bother with any of that - not planning on cashing out anything while I am here, nor will I play a lot. Most likely I will put in 50 or 100 euros and it will take a long time to get back to my old level NL50 to even consider cashing out anything.

PS: I will use a German VPN while playing from here.

Yes since I live and work in Germany, I want to make sure that I am playing from the correct "legal" grounds. Being in Greece for a week does not change the fact that I am German and that I am living in G ermany, would you still recommend to sign up as a Greek player and then change it to Germany next week? It sounds a bit off to me.. especially since poker rooms ask for the country of residence, they want proof of that in form of Passport, Bank statements etc. I would not be able to provide any of that in Greece since I do not live here.

Im actually not playing with a VPN - they accepted my documents for Germany and it seems like you can play from greece without using a VPN - all good then

Hi everyone,

Am looking for a list of online poker sites that offer the ability for players to set self-imposed table stake limits.

E.g. can play 2nl to 25nl, but not 50nl

The only site I currently know of is Pokerstars, any others?

Based in the UK

Thanks

Hello,
As of right now poker is my living I've been grinding NL50,100 winning at good rates at a smaller site but it seems to be a bid dead atm, so I've been looking for a new site, what site would you recommend for me?

As of right now I am playing at Party but the player seem quite a bit more tough than at the smaller site I played at, so I dunno if I should keep on grinding it out at Party or switch

I am playing NL25 rush and cash recently on Natural8, which is a skin of GGPoker. Thinking about changing the site as the following.

1) The Leaderboard is quite weird that people got mark for just clicking button. Also, there is happy hour which I could not play at this time period in my timezone. (Happy hour is weird also)

2) The rake is seems insanely high (preflop rake). There is impossible to win without leaderboard?

My place could not play on pokerstar, 888poker and partypoker. Any suggestion? Thanks bro. Is ACR Good?

hi all, looking for a new mixed games home:

been on SWC micros and low and mostly enjoyed that but not a ton of traffic and it's down now.

totally turned off of kingsclubpkr.

any other options out there? I'd love some micro/low draw games...

Hi all,

I‘ve been a high volume player right from the start of internet poker up to 2006. In 2006 Stars introduced the Supernova program, and I happened to become Supernova being one of the first 100 players worldwide. Back then I used to play 100 and 200 SnGs up to 24 Tables simultaneously, actually starting 24 tables a one time and finishing them before starting another round of 24 tables (there usually weren‘t 24 200$ SnGs running simultaneously, which was the reason for me to mix it with the 100s.

I used to be a winning player, making between 7-9% ROI back then from the game directy (without RB), but remember, this was the post-Moneymaker-era, games were super easy and tons of fishes even at these stakes, which were the highest SnGs back then (I think, they started the 500SnGs in 2006, but they rarely filled up).

After introducing the Supernova program, I really played extensively, I made enough Points from Jannuary to March to convert them into a 12k WSOP ME package, which was my goal when they announced the program. After reaching my goal though, I happened to get somerhing which I called poker-burnout. I just couldn‘t stand to play poker anymore, which was a good thing actually, since I really was afraid to be addicted to poker, but in fact wasn‘t at all. I flew to Vegas and played the main event, dropped out on day one, played two 5k EPT events the same year without any success and quit poker for the rest of the year. In 2007 PS introduced the Supernova Elite programm, and I was sure to be able to make elite status. So I went back to Stars grinding the 100 und 200 SnGs for something like two or three weeks, but recognised that I just couldn‘t stand Poker no more and totally quit it.

I never played poker for a living, but made more money playing than in my regular job, especially since it was taxfree money (I lived and still live in Austria). Still, I never secondguessed my decission quitting poker.

Due to some changes in my live, I thought about giving poker another try. I still have my job, but I do have a goal, which hardly is financially achievable for me in my job, so some extra money would be nice, and I think, after all these years and the goal in my mind I‘m able to put in the time necessary to grind my way to reach that goal. On the other side I‘m sure the game changed a lot and I‘m absolutely unsure if I could be a winning player again, and if so, at what stakes. I think, I should be able to play about 20hrs/week these days.

Due to the fact that I happened to be a rather good SnG grinder, I would like to give it a try at SnG again. From what I‘ve read at pokerscout, Stars still would be the site to play, right? I think I would risk 2k to have a very reasonable bankroll at the 10$ or € SnGs there. The goal would be to move up to the 20buy ins, later to the 30 or 50 buy ins, if the bankroll should happen to be suited. So I have some general questions regarding these plan:

1) Are thes games per se still beatable at all?
2) Do the tables at these buy in still fill up fast enough, so that one can play 15-20 tables simultaneously? (Of course I wouldn’t start playing 20 tables right from the beginning, but after being accustomed to playing this would be the plan)
3) Are there lots of bots at Start SnGs?
4) Any software I should buy? Back then I had pokertracker, which was for statistics only.
5) I‘m gonna buy a notebook for poker only. I don‘t know anything about computer at all, I just want (my account) to be safe from any fishing/hacking, so this computer would be a poker only thing. A mac should be safer, right? Remember, I don’t know the first thing about computer! Or would you rather recommend a windows computer and lots of internet security software, which actually is something I don’t want to bother with. (I can deduct the costs of the computer from my income tax of my regular job anyway, and I’m obviously rather thinking of a MacBook Air instead of a MacBook Pro).
6) If I purchase an Apple computer: I guess all sites and programs these days run on them, right?

Thanks in advance for any help

this really speaks to me as well, did basically the same thing (although my version I topped out at platinum, and only went as far as doing some smaller bracelet events [the main never really spoke to me, for whatever reason]), also kind of considering getting back to it. would like to do more PLO and mix, but yeah...

If the goal is some extra cash/savings there are way better side hustles. Like seriously anything is better if you care about making money.

Have you read back over this and other threads to see recommendations of other sites to other players? Do you have any further questions about any particular sites that have not yet been answered?

Hello

I feel like starting playing some online poker again. I wanna start from roughly 5$ sit&go's and low buy in tournaments build up from there and test the waters. I live in EU.

What rooms would you suggest? Which rooms would have decent amount of low level sit&go's? Also, decent deposit bonuses are always nice but not that important as I'm just starting to test the waters.

Thank you very much in advance!

Hey guys been a while since I have played online. What would be the best site to play on right now? I know that the rakeback is pretty horrendous these days. Is poker stars still considered the best? Is GG any good? I see party poker looks ok also?

thanks for the feedback

Where do you live? What stakes do you play? Do you play games other than NLHE? Do you play cash, STT's or donkaments? What volume do you play? Are you reliant on a HUD or can you think for yourself while playing? What's your risk tolerance for playing on sites with questionable regulation and/or requirements to deposit using dogecoins or other funny money? Do you value having customer service that takes less than a month to reply?
