I'm really sorry to hear that and that's a pretty poor job if they did not even email you.
I recently had an issue on the same network with an old account with $250 in it. They closed it because I hadn't played in 6 months, but didn't notify me at all. I emailed back and forth and they said I had no balance. Luckily I'm not a new player nor naive and a really solid manager on the site that I knew helped straighten it out for me.
Things have been a lot darker since new management took over on Merge. I hope it changes and they can communicate a little more effectively in the future. There are still some positives (Software is good for US facing, population is 3rd largest US facing, cashouts are not bad), but in the last 6 months there have been too many instances of silent communications and unfriendly player policies.
It is a pretty blatant theft. I have seen dozens of complaints about people who did not receive an email about their points being lost or rakeback ending on Merge. When players do not receive emails and the poker room still insists on stealing $500 worth of points you have to wonder what else they may do down the road. Obviously nobody is going to let that many points expire. They owe you Poker Maximus tickets or something and if they do not they are thieves and you should play somewhere else.
Same thing happened to me with Players Only. All VIP points erased. Rakeback removed. I was furious. No warning ahead of time and no communication after the fact either. I caught it at 1:00AM on the first because I happened to be playing...I complained vehemently and was told tough luck....mgt decision. Such a foul business decision. Has this been implented at all Merge Skins?
