Dan Harrington used to wear an 888 hat all the time, I wonder if he knows anyone at 888/Pacific that could help get this rule changed.

Maybe David Sklansky or someone else who knows Dan can make him aware of this thread to see if Dan can shake a few branches at the 888 tree.

absolutely correct. the proper response to anyone who promotes pacific in any way is to laugh in their face. what does barry shulman say about this? why does he let them run advertisements?

Is there a particular reason for leaving 5k+ on a crappy site for over a year?

This is so completely not the point. Why do people keep asking this question instead of focusing on the theft that happened here?

And people complain about UB and AP... This is some BS if I ever saw one. OP, how can you leave over $5000 in a poker site for way over a year without checking your balance every once in a while? This means that $5000 is nothing to you, so in the end this shouldn't hurt you that much...

Personally I've always seen their support as appalling and incapable of peforming anything but basic ABC functions. You won't get anyhing out of the normal CS so you should try to get into contact with someone whos ranks high in their organization. Maybe with big luck you might get your money back but I wouldn't bet my money on it.

This is just unethical business practice, and players should be informed. Ty op for posting this.

To whom it may concern,

I am writing to you in support of the player Bawanga, who had $3,361.80 confiscated from his account at Pacific Poker due to your outlandish 10%/month "administration fee" for idle accounts. Even though this fee is described in the fine print of your T&C, there is no legal, rational or moral justification for this unreasonable practice.

I am deeply disturbed by your actions, and I will consider taking my business to more trustworthy sites, unless confirmation is posted on the twoplustwo.com forums that the matter has been appropriately resolved. I urge you to refund the money confiscated, and to remove the corresponding section from your T&C.

I think it should be added that anyone inquiring about pacific poker will be discouraged by all 2+2 members because of their unethical treatment of players fund.

i think 2p2ers should discourage people from playing on:
Pacific
UB/AP
FTP(unbelievably poor customer svc.)
Ongame(allowed a ring of money launderers and colluders to run rampant on their site for over 5 months, even though they were notified of this ring many times, the first time 2 months in. once they finally did something they promised to investigate the ring. few weeks later, another member of the ring was found to still be laundering money. if they would have done a couple hours of investigating they would have found this acct too. i reported this acct twice and the acct continued to launder money for 7 more days!)

personally i am questioning my decision to be an online poker pro (been one for a little over a year). besides the security issues, im having ethical concerns. it seems the majority of the industry is so corrupt, and im starting to feel guilty contributing to this racket. ive decided to attempt to switch to live poker full time. im lucky enough to have a lot of live options within one hour of my house. plan on testing the waters this week.

wondering if other online pros have these concerns or have made the switch because of these reasons?

You should contact Norwegian Consumer Ombudsman and complain about this. I think they can handle this case for you. This is a clear case of t&c abuse and you have very strong case against pacific on this.

I personally have no concerns about this. Are you seriously going to play live and make a fraction of your current hourly earn because of the ethics of a few incidents in online poker? To me that seems pointless since the ethics of playing live don't seem much different to me.

if my hourly profit live is substantially less than online, i will have to stay online. if that ends up being the case, i will re-evaluate at that time and decide if i want to keep this profession.
