Yanic, PM me your SN and when this happened or any other details. Sounds very odd. If true, i promise you will get your money back.

Pacific has returned my money..anyway, I'm quite unhappy that this can happen at all.

My account on pacific is 01yanick and the "phantom table" still appears after my logins so it would be great if you could check your software..

The site couldn't have emailed him before it started charging these outrageous fees? In the terms, but dosen't make it right. It is not costing the site a hardship having his funds on site im sure they have the money invested in part. Didn't read the end post I think though the person representing pacific is really a caring rep and doing a great job in disputes that come up. Keep up the goodwork.

The same thing just happened to me. Pacific poker silently has taken money from my account with not ONE attempt at contacting me. They took almost 13$ a month from me for 6 months. Not nearly as bad as Bawanga's account of 5000$, I only had about 115$ in my account but still, they took almost the whole thing. The really stupid thing is that Pacific poker would have probably made more money from me by me playing in hundreds of poker hands than the 75$ stupid dollars that they took from me. Now im going to post my bad experience to every poker forum i can find. So basically pacific poker gets less money from me and bad publicity as well. What a ridiculous policy.

I'm glad this worked out for the OP, but it sounds like the site may not have officially changed their written policy yet. If no one has done so, it would probably be a good idea to make sure these folks are aware of the policy:

Gibraltar Regulatory Authority
Gambling Division
Suite 811
Europort
Gibraltar
T: 00350 20074636
F: 00350 20072166
E-mail: gambling@gra.gi

Just because it is in the T&C doesn't necessarily mean it is legal or allowed by the regulatory agency.

I just logged onto Pacific two days again after an 11 month absence and they took $1800 off my account. Is there any way I can get the money back?

Apart from this being the first time anyone from 888 has entered the thread, do you think that to get to the stage where you are "going to implement something very soon" after 18 months is acceptable, and demonstrative of giving any respect at all to the reasonable wishes of your customers?

I would have thought one month should have been more than enough time to alter a few words in outdated and unfair T&C.

Please post again when the T&C are actually changed.

Even 10$ is too much for money that isnt yours and doesnt cost you anything to have. That still going to be 10% or more for some people with more than "a few cents". You people will lose a lot more customers and therefore money this way than the money you will save by closing these dormants accounts. I personally would never open an account there because of this thread alone.

Here's a morbid thought.

I wonder how many online players die each year?

I wonder how long it takes for next of kin to establish the existence of all the deceased's Poker accounts?

Wouldn't it be more likely that T&Cs of this kind are in operation to allow sites to seize these funds before they go to probate?

So I guess thank God this player registered for 2+2 in January of '08, remembered his password and made his first and only post in this thread?

What do the rest do Pacific?

Ok, thanks yuvee. That's good to know and at least solves most of the problem.

Lazy.FisH, did you try emailing them before posting here? Did you receive a response before posting here if you did? Thanks

He did e-mail support, that's how I found him (I cannot PM him because of the low post count).

I actually didn't do anything, by the time I found out who he was, he already got refunded.

I got the $1800 refunded, thanks Yuv.

I emailed support and a Member Support Representative told me that these were the rules and there was nothing they could do. I searched 2+2 and found this thread and made a post. The next day I got another email from a Senior Support Representative saying they had refunded my money.

People can also get sick, go in the military, go to jail, etc etc. Things happen and when they do, the last thing I'm thinking is "oh **** I better email my poker site so they don't take my money"

There's got to be a better way for these "dormant" accounts. Also, would like to hear why support is telling people they can't have their money yet reps here are saying all you have to do is email and it will be refunded.

The real troubling thing for me is the way it's done without notice. Several other sites will charge a fee against dormant accounts, but only after they email you and let you know.

Hollywood Poker just started doing this; both my wife and I have accounts there with less than a dollar in them. HP emailed us both letting us know about the policy, and offered us a bonus to come back and play.

Hey, there's a unique idea! Rather than quietly taking players' money, take positive steps to try and get them to come back and play at your site!

Hey Bobo,

We are sending e-mails today prior to the deduction and offering players different promotions to re-activate them.
