Also Justin, Gemaco had a very good point in another thread. With this update a player can leave a table and rebuy for any amount at the same table a second later. You have to change this or shortstackers are going to take over the games.

Perhaps.. but doubtful... it seems like any change made to anything dealing with the client gets changed back as soon as you open the client.

Wow. Checked this thread b4 i went to sleep and it was at <300 posts now its over 500.

Wow maybe I am glad I can not get the update to finish. Shortstackers already scum up the game on most PLO tables. And wtf, not listing player names

Edit: Anyone help me with my prior question of why it may be freezing before I can finish the update

Are you kidding me?!? sigh...

Never really realized it before, but it's definitely in their best interest to try to get regs to battle as much as possible, because their rake is twice as high as normal sites. I'm glad they are closer to achieving their goals.

Also, very pleased that all my notes I've taken over the last couple years are now gone. The sick part is Bodog doesn't really care if they have a successful poker room, as evidenced by the fact that this is the first real update they have made to their client since I've played there, despite it being clearly the worst in the industry. This will now kill their business but they won't care.

5. The color of the cards blend in more with the tables. Red on red sucks because you can't tell who has folded and who hasn't with a quick glance.
Felt color can be changed

Except it doesn't really explain anything. Just saying oh we want to be edgy isn't an explanation.

I can't wait for people to just start grimming like crazy at the HU tables.

Calvin must have a nasty drug habit, because he's delusional about these changes. He pumps up the rake, adds blackjack (what does that have to do with poker?), makes it anonymous, and increases table count to 20 (to make up for lost volume from other players who leave the site), but rec players don't even play anywhere near that amount of tables! A JOKE!!!

A "pure poker" experience, really! I mean, I must say I remember the first time i played poker with 5 "anons" wearing hoods and only known mysteriously as Player 1....2....3....4....5. We all sat in a darkened room saying nothing, it was very pure.

Also it looks like they took out the 6 max non turbo sngs. They got a solid amount of traffic so thats sort of surprising. Only turbos available now, which isn't a huge deal I guess but non turbos were nice.

"v) Play More Tables: Play up to 20 tables"

??
11-30-2011 , 11:59 AM
By quoting DN in their article about how he uses history and information on players to gain an edge they are basically saying "We don't want a game of skill and experience, we want as much luck involved as possible"

Am I reading that right?

And:

Arguably the best known poker pro on the planet, Daniel Negreanu himself, freely admits that using player data has helped him win. In his own blog he states: “There is plenty of information online that you could find about your opponents. For example, what they’ve won, what tournaments they normally play and how they do overall. I’d type in their online results under the notes tab, then also color code the notes with either “Winning Tourney Player” or “Losing Tourney Player. All these tools helped me make better reads in marginal situations.”

These tools are available to anybody and everybody. There are 100's of poker books, 1000's of training videos over mulitple training sites. Bad players can improve, it's not a regs fault he wins because he takes notes and plays correctly vs specific opponents (am i supposed to be punished because i've spent 100's of hours studying and improving my game). One of the fundementals of poker - play the opponent not the cards - dam who is the opponent. This will create a nit/station fest!

Are you serious? Bodog has already a very high rake and from what I read Bodog still increased the rake for some tourneys and in this article you seriously advertise the new software and its new features with competitive rake? Competitive to what?

Still 4 tables cash, up to 20 for MTT's, which will give them a lot of room to add new tournaments to the schedule.

i kinda saw it coming. Guess they still have the same programmers. i wonder if the ever let someone test their programms/updates before they release it.

few cons that i remeber after playing for 15 mins:
- cant see mucked hands in hh
- filter settings arent saved after restart
- still no auto-rebuy, and (worse than before) u cant rebuy while still involved in a hand u might loose
- how the hell are u supossed to play 20 tables? I already timed out all the time on 4, because windows dont pop up, u have a different position everywhere, no more highlights of active player (smaaaaall yellow bar doesnt count)
- hard to distinguish between system notices and players writting in the chat window
- sounds are tilting me and u cant even deactivate them??
- slow action
and the list goes on and on. I m not even saying anything about the whole anomynous players thing, I personally don t mind playing w/o hud, but this... Bodog is gonna be a ghosttown soon )-;

sooo much fail
11-30-2011 , 12:06 PM
Rebecca, if you guys want to be more like stars, you should list how many active players you have at the top of the client. I want to at least enjoy watching it wither away
