I have absolutely no way of knowing at all and neither does anyone else really. Just play what you want and/or what you think will be the most profitable for you.

I do know that most people vastly overestimate the amount of time they can dedicate themselves to cranking it out at the poker tables. So if you are starting the year and saying, "Hey...it's just 47 hours per week so I'll just dedicate myself to 7 hours every single day and that's not so bad" then your burn-out factor is going to be high and hit you fairly quick.

So if maybe 1.5M is likely stretching it for you but you think 1M is more realistic I might suggest taking the easier route I guess? But again, I have no idea what would work better for you or what games you're better at or how much you might end up losing if you burn-out playing too long and on too many tables, etc etc.

Since I kind of burnt out this year and fell short of Elite for the 2nd year in a row I'm probably not the person to be giving the best answer on this anyway even if I had an answer to give you.

How far did you make it Bob? What was your year end total for VPP's?

I believe my year-end total was something like 800,002.

I fell behind pace which was my fault of course and then I just happened to get offered an awesome opportunity in late October to return to sports broadcasting that I just couldn't pass up. I knew that accepting likely meant I was passing up several thousand $$ in value I would have gotten for making Elite but this was something I really wanted to do and I'm really glad I didn't turn down this offer just for Eliteo. First place Wheeling Nailers are 20-6-5!!!

SNGs Played: 240 , Total Hands: 11,533 , Total Hours: 13.1 , Total VPP: 7265

Trying to get 100K VPP for January. Running and/or playing badly already, doesn't look promising.

just got a house here in vegas and I do not plan on traveling through europe playing baseball for half the year again, so i'll be getting SNE this year.

good luck everyone!

".....Since you basically were full time for half this year -- any plans for SNE in 09?

Unfortunately no. I estimate that in 09 I will probably only make around 700,000 VPP's. So unless I can learn to add tables or if I move up in stakes, I probably won't be really gunning for SNE. I do want to get SNE, but unless I add tables and/or move up, it's not realistic just yet. I hate this expression, but I don't want to let the tail wag the dog. That is to say that I want to focus on making money and have the VIP system be a bonus....I don't want to let the VIP system dictate the stakes I play or how many tables I play....."

This is from Sparta's Well over the STT forum and it actually made me change my mind for my 2009 goals.

I guess it mostly aplies for those who play poker for a living . I believe having this kind of discipline is the biggest goal a pro should have. Is def a leak on me and I hope to get trough it during 2009 so I believe im dropping out from SNE race.

any thoughts?

guess I'll go for the trifecta, hopefully I can stay at higher stakes and wont have to put in as many hours.

getting in a ton of play to make up for the PCA, time to start packing! hopefully I'll see some of you down there.

at 17315 VPP's so far from NL Cash, running really well, already up 40% of my best month ever

Thanks Bob. I know my question was kind of vague. Just trying to way my option with limit. Going to try a little of everything and see what works best. just the difference between 1m and 1.5m is 60K. Thanks for your help and good luck this year.

I just got to SN last year for the 1st time,

I am not sure how it works, when Stars says I am SN until June (as long as I get 10K a month, only missing 1 month), does that mean in July I am back to Platinum if I don't have 100,000 vpps by then?

If you earn 10k VPPs in June, yes.

0.45 VPPs at NL400 6max (65K hands)
0.42 VPPs at NL200 6max (140k hands)

.47 VPP/hand so far at NL200 SH for me this year (20447 hands, 9642 vpp)

i guess lame shortstackers get less.
