New PokerStars update has weird window focus issue.

It seems that the lobby insists on staying on top at all times, making it near impossible to press buttons on table and dialog boxes. This is on XP. Anyone else having this problem?

On further inspection, it seems that the lobby is also resizable now. This might have something to do with it.

I wish sites would stop messing with there stuff and just leave it alone and let me play.

My pt is all messed up, my AHK scripts don't work, this is seriously pissing me off. I was going to play 4K hands today on stars...but I've played 63 and calling it quits for the day...good work stars, smart business move.

will be sure not to close my Stars now.
Leaving it open means I get to dodge the update for now while I learn of others' experiences with it.

That's funny. I'm doing the same thing.

I will probably just leave my computer on overnight so that I can play tomorrow without any of these problems.

note that we have no idea if these problems are universal or not. Maybe they don't effect you or me at all. I don't run AHK stuff for instance.

But mostly I just don't feel like taking any chances until I hear of others' problems or hopefully lack thereof. So I will be leaving my computer on overnight as well.

Is there a way to prevent the update from happening? I know you can do it with UB by removing the autoupdate file from the UB folder (or something like that). I don't feel like having problems on juicy Friday.

Run Stars from PokerStars.exe rather than the default PokerStarsUpdate.exe.

I notice two new things in this update,

1. When your in a tournament, and click view lobby, it doenst go the tournament lobby anymore. It simply goes to the pokerstars lobby.

2. Their is no countdown at break on each table, It simply says, "Players are now on break".

Are these new features or bugs? Not quite sure...

Well, I have closed P S twice today and re-opened and have not had any problems. In fact, I haven't had an update today either. I just now logged in--no update--oh well, maybe everybody doesn't get the update at the same time since the lobby is not resizeable for me like the tables.

my pokerstars did not update today and i've opened it twice I believe.

Also, as someone else said, start stars with pokerstars.exe and not pokerstarsupdate.exe like the default is.

I think the tourney table clicking view lobby and getting the main lobby is a bug because my wifes comp goes to the main lobby and my comp goes to the tourney lobby. I am experiencing no difficulty after this update but having bigger text is awesome. I haven't played yet though, just browsed the new features.

Sounds kind of good to me, it pisses me off that I have to reopen the lobby every time I open a new table, so I can't just open up a bunch quickly and prune the [censored] ones.

I'm not positive but I could swear this was something it did maybe 2 or 3 years ago sometimes. Annoyed the crap out of me.

IIRC - it would open the tourney-lobby IF you had it minimized or something.
But if the tourney-lobby was completely closed then it would just open the main-lobby.

In the tourny lobby the black means you are in the tourny, and the green means you are out. If I recall correctly it was the opposite...

Customer service told me that they have backed off on the update. They also asked me to send them the .log files from the Stars folder, so it appears they are having serious problems with it. The new version was apparently up for only a short while, which explains why not everyone got the update.

i got the update, no issues but

on the tile/cascade/etc button on the tables, there's a new "font size" menu. just annoying b/c it's above the tile/cascade and i had the mouse action engrained in my muscle memory to tile

I was watching the changes on PokersStars' Test site for the last month or so. I'm surprised they decided to deploy the update to the main site because to me, it definitely was not ready for prime time.

I got stuck with that new update and I thought Stars had turned into Prima Poker.

The most annoying thing was scrolling through large lists of tournaments. I can't really explain the problem but it scrolls through ones visible already on your screen rather than showing the ones up and down, if you know what I mean (probably not), which was annoying.
