Since Party/888 are already "foreign online gambling companies", what's different about this? Are we even talking about companies that'll serve NJ players, or are we just inviting these companies to serve the rest of the world from our lovely state and pay taxes up the ass?

The article is short on details but alludes to access to/by foreign markets which would be nice.

To me anything that would foster competition and/or grow the player base would a step in the right direction.

I thought I'd heard that the bill to actually allow access to ROW players was still way in the planning stage and wasn't this one, but I'm not sure. As you said, no details.

I am sure PokerStars is just dying to apply for permission to pay the state of NJ 15% tax for doing absolutely nothing so that they can get rejected again.

Seriously, is Econsluts (nice name BTW) the same group of idiots that produced the estimates for NJ online gaming revenue to begin with?

If I recall correctly, the bill says it can be revisited by the legislature. This may be the vote to accept that idea and allow for us to play with foreign markets. I'll try and talk to some people on twitter.

There was no VIP program in place at the time you earned them. I had no expectation of ever getting anything for my points. In fact, I have no idea how many I have.

And there have been very good temporary promos like 80% rakeback which are way better than any VIP that were put into place because there was no program.

I'm sure you want more money, but you've been dealt with more than fairly imo

+1. 888 is the only site I play on as micro regfish. The 80% RB promo+ $8888 freeroll and tourney is the reason for that. If they keep up decent promos, I could care less about the VIP program. At some point I'll try playing on Borgata so I can maybe get some free rooms but 888 is my preferred software for now.

if Party is so bad then why do they have 10x the number of players then the rest of the sites combined? even without crazy promotions...

the software is fine, promos are clearly announced, and since December have pretty much had no big issues and the traffic hasn't dropped even with the other sites crazy promos...

Party's customer service has been pretty good too the 1 time i've needed something

Why would you say these things? Did someone else lie to you and you believed it? Or did you make this up all by yourself? Not cool.

UP does seem to have the best CS. I think it's bc when you call youre going to speak to someone in NJ, that understands how the game of poker works. Not someone from another country who thinks of poker the same as any other casino game.

Easy question, easy answer

Party and the Borgata are the biggest names on one combined platform. So it was the obvious site that got the most initial people. And traffic brings in other traffic.

Trust me, they are not #1 because of their software and support.

But Party/Borg are playing their hand like an old man with a coffee. They are still afraid of holding a 100K every week even though it likes like it would surely hit

Does the Borgata skin have the fast fold variant or is that exclusive to the party poker skin?

It's funny the different variations of these posts:

"Damnit these nits just fold everything and never pay you off. How do you win?"

and now

"These idiots can't fold a pair when I bluff three streets. WTF THESE GAMES ARE UNBEATABLE!"

I mean, I get the frustration of having bad players call you down lightly but you bet a super connected board that hit him on the flop and refused to shut down when there were is almost no board runout that will scare him that doesn't improve your hand. When you commit to a huge bluff that early on against a random donk you're just asking to have it end poorly.

i cannot even begin to explain how awful i run.. if i check raise, bet, shove. i get looked up lightly when i have air... ill have the same exact line (amounts too) with the nuts and they fold. not to mention KK to AA 7 times today.. i cannot get anything going here in jersey when i was a crusher on merge last year.. and i mean crusher. doesnt make any sense. either everyone is a genius or im leveling myself to death

My point about UP was that NO ONE plays there, even with great promotions...They could have the best software, best variety of tournaments, best customer service...but they are not doing well at all for some other reason because its a ghost town there...and thats the truth, not sure what you're trying to debate

Party is doing the bare minimum and is winning...thats how sad the other sites are, they do all kinds of stuff and cant get people to play there...and it doesn't look like its going to change so i'd rather all the other sites fail so we get even more people playing on Party/Borgata to get bigger and better games running and more people in tournaments...and they do have some smaller promos all the time, nothing special but that could change

Your point is...pointless?

I'm trying to figure out if you are making this up yourself - or if someone lied to you.

If you are just making stuff up, not cool. If someone told you that nobody plays on UP, even during the noverlay promo they fooled you.

Don't vent

Few cross site questions. Which ones are currently honoring live tier rewards?
1) Know you can purchase comps on Borgata .. does that get included to progress toward black label?

2) WSOP claims to match tiers after 4 months. Theres a thread about it in wsop.com, but no clear answer from support - anyone have any luck?

3)Finally, UP - anyone know anything about that place and live matches?

Stoop, tell me how many people play at UP at even the peak time? its the lowest of all the sites

These are some of the things I've seen rating all the different sites...

Ultimate Poker
•Traffic: D+
•Value / Promos: A
•Software: D
•Customer Service: A
•Overall: C+

1.PartyPoker NJ / Borgata (Shared network) – 42% market share .
2.WSOP.com – 32% market share .
3.888 Poker New Jersey – 22% market share.
4.Ultimate Poker New Jersey – 4% market share.

They had a peak of 35 cash game players according to the online poker traffic report.

~~link deleted~~

So Stoop, face the facts NO ONE plays at UP...tournaments they have good value because they have overlays all the time, but if you are looking for cash games they don't run...

not sure why you are defending them so much because you're on your own there

It blows me away that some of you guys are giving Brilliant a hard time. He plays tons of tournies and does exceptionally well. Whatever his reasons are for playing or not playing a specific tournament makes no difference.
