I have learned tonight after reading some posts that there are auto-seating scripts out there recently that are not commercially available that help regs jesus seat recreational players. I have not found it in the couple hrs I have been looking, maybe I just didn't look hard enough. I am not super involved in the community so I have had a hard time finding it when going through public posts and Google. Also not sure which ones are banned already. If it is not commercial a link should be posted in a thread immediately so it is available for everyone, or many players will be at a disadvantage, particularly fish and regs who don't actively look through forums. If any link to this software is removed by mods this is pure scum by the poker community. Links for this software should be posted all over the web to disallow this unfair advantage. This should be spread around very quickly so pokerstars will take quick action to ban or allow it.

As Madjohny mentioned above auto-sitting is implement on most well-known sites. So, it's worth to play on small, non-stable ones?

Everyone here including the mod misunderstood him. He is not talking about autoseat.

He is talking specifically about private software that, when an unknown or recreational player sits at an empty table, such software immediately snap sits to his left. This is a legitimate concern that is driving recreational players away from playing poker online.

As the poker market becomes more efficient, such software is inevitable. That's why even though "Table Starters" is currently broken, I support strong such initiatives to turn table selection into king of the hill so that recreational players don't have to experience first hand the "race" every day for players to sit with them.

So the fish are going to use it to get the Jesus seat on them selfs lol.

How Stars allows this stuff is beyond me. This type of software just rips recreationals faster (from Stars perspective less rake). Therefore recreationals don't feel they get their entertainment value from their deposit and won't want to return.

I can understand from a business POV why HUDS are allowed as this assists in multitabling but this software hurts Stars's bottom line.

From a moral POV this is just sick that it's allowed.

If it auto snap sits you to his left when the fish sits down and there are 20 regs using the software, who gets to actually sit to his left?

I'll been in a long email battle with stars about these scripts. So bad for the games.

A) First in alphabetical order
B) Fastest Internet connection
C) Who believes more in God

Uh oh. Do not show this to any of the people in the HUD thread debate.

The next thing you know, we will have a bunch of people saying how the AS scripts are poor for the game because everyone can not have a top of the line internet connection so its biased and not fair.

All kidding aside. I see a poster (d7old1s0) mention he has had some rather lengthy debates with PS about these scripts. Could you share some of those exchanges? I would be curious to see what they are saying at this time about the usage of them and because of this thread, I do not think that I am the only one.

I'm not saying its good for the game but clearly PS can't ban it and it isn't immoral. When a rec sits a table, at that instant lets say there are 5 seats and actually 20 people want to sit. The 5 fastest people to sit will sit. It's in your right to sit, all this software does is let them sit in a tenth of a second, instead of the 1 second that currently happens.

It's pretty silly to say okay, you have to manually sit with your mouse and eyes, you can't auto-sit. It shouldn't matter, if you are allowed to sit in 1 second you should be allowed to sit in 0.1 seconds.

That also raises the question of, is it even possible to ban out. And basically the answer is no. Banning this is much harder than eg. banning an autofolder. And even then it doesn't remove the underlying predatory behavior.

What PS has chosen to do instead (clean up the actual underlying rules through Table Starter) is far superior imo.

Why are you opposed to a site making manual seating mandatory?

Seems like it is an obv solution to the (numerous apparently) bum hunting seating scripts.

If Stars cares about the games they will eliminate HU tables completely. It is all bumhunting anyway. I'd also like it if they removed all standard tables and made cash games zoom only.

Um, OK. He was asking about software, so I suggested he check out the software forum. You confirmed he's asking about software, so, um, yeah. Call me crazy, but I'm pretty sure people in the software forum might know about software.

I dont know of any such software and I doubt it exists unless someone wrote it for oneself.

When a new game starts the best seats will be taken very quickly manually. It happens fast because theres competition. Theres no one using a script and I doubt this script would be much faster then a human unless youre playing alot of tables.

If such a script is used by some people iam beating them on a regular basis.

Chief, I'll have to shock you, but software like that has been around for a while. It started as private thing and now it's commercial - everyone can buy it and use it. What it does it scans poker client lobby and if someone who you have assigned as a mark sits down on table software will insta sit you on his left.

I don't think that such a script would make that much of a difference in terms of an unfair advantage. Anyone using a tablescanner can easily manually seat select just as well, assuming they are only playing a few tables. The script could certainly benefit large multitablers. But the script would only really give those players a significant advantage over other large multitablers who don't use it.

I don't think this kind of software would have much or any use at stakes below MS+, so below that people would probably be indifferent to it. Less rake to the HS guys always tho.
