I don't think learning to stack is very beneficial in the long term for your overall poker game. I tried it very briefly and I just feel like you lose way too much info/become too robotic/act in a vacuum. To each their own, I guess.

yeah well obv until you play on 12 tables it sure better to tile them, however once u get up to 30 or so it doesnt matter anymore... also you can always pull out the important ones from the stack as well as review your hands post session =)

this.

If you play more than 12, you need 30" with 2560x

If you play less, get a regular HD monitor. If you have a half decent video card, you should be able to fit 12 no overlap at smallest tile size.

I rarely play more than 12, but i use a 32" HD TV for my main and a 24" HD monitor for my secondary (internet, lobbies, brand new tourneys, pron, etc)

I see. Guess I'm a noob when it comes to monitors. I'll have to look into higher res for myself.

Okay well after reading so much into monitors etc I can safely say that I am as confused now, more than ever as to what will be the best value for my requirements and money.

I am wanting a monitor at least 23" (preferably 24") to play sngs at a comfortable viewing table size. I mainly play on 888 poker (tables can be resized) and sky poker.

Firstly, is there a big difference between a monitor with res 1920x1200 and 1920x1080 and is it really important to have a monitor with a IPS pane rather than a TN?

If you do not know the table sizes on 888, they're pratically the same as pokerstars. So let's use pokerstars as a basis on default size or slightly smaller than default. How many tables could I fit tiling on either resolution?

I have listed some monitors below that I am looking to buy within my budget (or just outside my budget) and would really like reccommendation if possible please.

My budget is really around £150. Please can you rank them in order or explain why I should really go for a certain model. I cannot believe that choosing a monitor could be this confusing!!

CTX 24" 1920x1200 £104.99
http://www.cclonline.com/product/889...nitor/MON0969/

Concerns: Contrast ratio is only 800:1 than the usual 1000:1 and cheap brand.
------------------------------------------------------
Dell 24" 1920x1200 IPS Pane £219.24
http://www.cclonline.com/product/651...nitor/MON0494/

Concerns: Ex demo model and 40% above my budget.

How big a difference is it between these two models taking into account the money?
------------------------------------------------------
Samsung 24" 1920x1200 £196.93
http://www.cclonline.com/product/713...nitor/MON0619/

Concerns: Cannot see why to spen £100 more than the CTX.
-------------------------------------------------------
Iiyama 23" 1920x1080 IPS Pane 178* Viewing Angle £129.60
http://www.cclonline.com/product/682...itor-/MON0594/

Concerns: Not 1920x19200

-------------------------------------------------------
LG 23" 1920x1080 IPS pane 178* Viewing Angle £112.99
http://www.cclonline.com/product/870...nitor/MON0953/

--------------------------------------------------------
AOC 23" 1920x1080 IPS Pane 178* Viewing Angle £123.02
http://www.cclonline.com/product/784...nitor/MON0903/

If you could reccommend any other monitor aside from these at the same kind of prices then please do.

You should buy 2 cheap 23" on that budget costing about 75 each.
Then you would have a whopping 3840X1080
And if 1 stops working you wont

I have a Sony 17" in which I can use for Lobby etc but it is really poor for tabling on.

What about the Panel as I read that IPS is easy on the eye and that TN Panel will cause eye strain when staring at the screen for a while.

That one appears to be out of stock and the last review was from 2009. Price looks good though, huh? I'd recommend getting one with plenty of adjustments. Sure you can use a stand to raise it, but I know when I'm playing long sessions, I'll sit up properly for a while, then I might slouch for a bit, then I might even kick back, and being able to adjust the monitor for each position would be a Godsend.

The product is discontinued, so I would suggest you check out HP or http://www.shopping.hp.com/en_US/hom...ories/Monitors. They have prices ranging from $160 and up, plus free standard shipping. I bought their bundle special of Two HP 2711x 27" LED Monitors two years ago, and I haven't had any problems since then. Given the overall value, I wouldn't consider anything else.

As far as the size and resolution goes would you say 24 or 27 inch? And 1900x1080 vs 1900x1200 which resolution would be better I mostly play on Lock

I have a 24" monitor with 1900x1200 resolution and the problem I have when trying to tile 6 tables is there is a lot of monitor space not being used. I wish the tables were larger and filled the entire monitor. This is for FTP/Stars.

B1GSA5H - how many tables do you want to play at once?
With 1900x1200 resolution I can tile 12 without any overlap.

Between 10 and 12 but I noticed when you tile them so small you can barely see the cards do you have that problem?

op, a default IP table is 800x600. Being an elitist that I am, lol, I will not subject any 1920x1200 monitor to more than 4 tables... When someone says 1920x1080 for pokerz, I says 'gtfo'. <---Though if you are a scrub a 1920x1080 will work better for 6 IP tables than a 1920x1200, obv math ldo. Now if you are a baller (your avatar suggests that at the very least you are a baller wannabe) a 30" with 2560x1600 will enable you to stay true to my principle while accommodating 6 tables at their intended resolution!...

You should have no problem fitting 12 tables on the 27" monitor, 1920 x 1080 resolution. I used to play upto 18 tables on Merge using a 4x3 setup with a couple of stacked on the 27" monitor with no problem. If you want to get a better feel for the different sized monitors, you should head up to a Best Buy and look at their displays (I wouldn't buy anything from them though).

If you want more information about this, there's some in Computer Technical Help, and this thread's been done 5 or 10 times before in this forum.

Hello dear players.

I was thinking of something, and would like to hear your oppinion.

For multitabling 9-12 tables, and not the smallest size tables. I dont want to get eyestrain.

What would you choose: 1 x 30 Inch(2560x1600res) or 2x 27 Inch(2560x1440) monitors?

Thanks in advance.

30'' is a perfect fit for 12 tables, they will still be small though. if you are concerned about eye strain I would recommend 2x27'' monitors and run about 6 and 6 on each which is nicely sized and cheaper. If you have intentions of increasing your tables beyond 12 tables, i would recommend you get the 30'' and consider investing in another one in the future, or a Dell 27'' monitor that can be rotated to portrait view which can fit 10 perfectly.
As for eye strain the positioning of your monitors can really help with long hours of sitting at your pc, google it. Try to get a level view where you do not need to be looking up too much and that helps.

You could probably also get some insight from the 5-10 threads we've already had on this or similar topics, as well as the Computer Technical Help forum.

If you have a detailed HUD, 9 tables is the max for a 30" imo.

3 24" 1920x1200s and play some awesome games as well with Eyefinity.
This will support four standard size tables on each monitor.
