so the other day when i first started playing on Minted i had 0 stars, I log on today and have 4. Do these mean/do anything special? Thanks in advance.

Also people wondering if you should deposit on Minted do it. Its great so far just needs a little more traffic. Customer service is amazing and RB is incredible. I am fairly certain I will be able to get my money off as well. **** carbon play on minted IMO

yes, they do. it's basically the worst idea ever. if you have too many stars, you cant sit at "higher" stakes tables with the fishes. If you have too few tables, it warns you before you sit at "higher" stakes tables.

For Neil B,

Tried to open to cashier window but couldnt do it. A message came up saying "the security certificate for this site has been revoked". "This site should not be trusted".
What is going on, cant deposit or cash out?

I just wanted to give my review I guess you could say with Minted. I started playing on Black Friday. I, currently, am receiving the Cashier messages saying that it's currently revoked, and I think the site was blocked.

Anyway, hopefully that get that settled. I have put some pretty good volume in on Minted. The biggest concern when I signed up at Minted was the fact that STT's just did not run at any decent stakes. Period. That has not changed. I have pretty much had to change from a MTT player to a cash game player just to make any money off of Minted, and I'm fine with that. It' just a transition that you have to make in order to be successful on a site such as this.

I did have one complaint, though. I requested a withdrawal via wire transfer in April, and it took one whole month (30 days) just to be processed. 4-5 days later I received the transfer to learn that about 9% of my withdrawal was not received I guess as a "wire transfer fee." This does not include the $16 wire transfer fee that my bank charges, and which I anticipated. I was pretty shocked that not only did my money take me 34-35 days to get to me, but that I was hit with a fee that was not explained to me even after I contacted customer service.

Maybe I should I try Western Union. I'm not sure. I am happy with the cash games/rake that Minted has to offer, but the whole withdrawal process was nearly enough to take my business elsewhere.

I don't think I've ever received a wire (on any site) that didn't ultimately have about $35-$50 taken out, so if you're going to cash out that way it should be for a large transaction. Those fees tend to be flat and not on a percentage basis. If withdrawing an amount in the hundreds there are probably better options.

I believe Everleaf done away with this recently because of the recent player feedback. The stars are still visible, but they do not determine what tables you can play any longer.

@Neil,

Can you comment on the fee's that JMiclett was charged on his Bank Wire? I thought they were free? I do believe I read that the fee's shouldn't be charged but if they were to contact support. If fee's are charged(such as in JMiclett case) would they be reimbursed.

Ok, so I misunderstood your post. It only affects the high stakes tables is what your saying. I believe it starts at 3/6, right? Also, they offer tables that aren't rated at those stakes, but it would still be frustrating when someone is already sitting and you wouldn't be eligible.

Nobody likes it but not many are affected.

The main reason I never liked it is because I know a lot of players that simply agree to rate each other lower so they are eligible to play the lower rated players. It's a system that needs to be done away with regardless because it is to easy to manipulate.

Oh, you can't be bored with PLO (especially when non-US are playing).

Its SO lucrative.

PS - I haven't deposited yet - but have generated enough for a bankroll worthy of the lowest limit cash games nlhe. Might deposit, but would want the bonus. And yes, those weekly RB payments are lovely (though I do like the daily on Carbon, can't beat that).

Haven't tried their tournies yet, but I really like the action on Hero myself.

They should state all fees that are involved. This needs to be updated for sure. If this is the case, I will not be using bank wire. I wonder if Western Union has any fees on withdraw?

WU has no fees upon withdrawal.

On a separate note, I have never understood why so many people get upset, or are surprised that there are fees along the way in the processing of a bank wire. Are poker players really this ignorant? Or do poker players have such a sense of entitlement that it shouldn't cost them anything to get their money, especially when depositing usually doesn't cost anything, considering which method is used. I have heard of people throughout the few years I have been around here complaining about 35 dollar fees for 10k wires, and having a bitch-fit. Get over it, bank wires probably will have fees associated with them. Don't use the method unless you are withdrawing a decent amount.
