I think you're mistaking "poker pro" for "24 tabling BE rakeback grinder". For these people to make a living I agree, there's only Stars...

starvingwriter82 It's sad that you can't go to the IOM representing poker players.
I'm worried we might not be represented well enough.

Other players besides nits get hurt too. I play 24/23/12 at CAP and I lose out a ton.
Maybe your win rate will go up?

Yes, please cashout of stars and play on other networks that value you more than stars does!

For the record I would still go if asked, but Stars hasn't extended the invitation.

FWIW, I've been in near constant contact via skype with JH1, klairec, and others, looking at the data and sharing what insights I can about what goes on at CAP tables and how various changes impact that player group.

Also, from my limited experience, the guys Stars did ask to attend a meeting are great choices for it. If there is anything to be gained from such a meeting, then it seems to me our representation is in good hands.

I already table select well/don't mass table, so it's unlikely my win rate will improve much.

Due to the extremely thin value nature of CAP games, I do not think win rates on winning players will improve enough to compensate for the loss, even if games do become notably weaker. Maybe 100bb players will have a different experience (although if I had to be honest, I'd suspect more headaches for 100bb players, as more than a handful of CAP players have been diligently working on a 40bb strategy specifically because rakeback cuts make CAP less appealing).

In any case, I sincerely hope I'm wrong and CAP games can continue with a balance that is still profitable for both Pokerstars and players.

A VERY good reg at cap 1/2 and below is breaking even. Rake is simply too high to beat the game now.

I'm the same situation as sw82. Gone from defo doing sne to not playing on stars at all.

Better deals/games to be had elsewhere

protip: Nobody gives a flying **** what you hope for. Confiscating people for things that do no breach their rules (TOC) is ridiculous.

Nice ad hominem thought. Post less, thanks.

Before BF the games were way better on FTP. The 16 table cap, and the WC rake made a big difference. The play on Stars in comparison was really nitty.

Note to rakeback nits. Pokerstars doesn't pay your rakeback. I do.
When I say I do, I mean those of us who play because it's fun, not because we've stumbled across a VIP points system that rewards inaction.
I'm a losing player, and I contribute about $50 a week to my hobby, parts of which go to people who make the game unbearably boring because of a stupid rakebake system. They don't chat, don't play without a big pocket pair, and create excruciating wait times because you have another 23 tables to run through.
Go, nobody is going to miss you.

I'm so confused??

all these nitty whiners complaining they can't beat the game unless somebody pays their losses and throws in some extra for them??

I don't play much cash - only 150K hands or so but I show a profit from playing the game.

I usually play MTT's and SNG's and show a profit from just playing both styles.

what I earn from points, bonuses, rewards, leaderboards, freerolls etc etc etc is just icing on the cake.

If you can't beat the game - DON'T PLAY THE GAME

Please make sure the door doesn't hit you on the way out. Since most of you babies have spat out your dummy already you might be in danger of biting your tongue if you get hit.

Come play PLO 6 max. Fewer 12+tablers, and more flops equals more fun!

Aussierob, seriously? You don't want anybody playing that can't beat the game? Doesn't that necessarily mean that nobody could?

Good idea Blue, I think I will

fyp. Lower stakes plo is also obscenely raked (like cap)

16bb/100 at plo 50. lolz. Even plo 200 is raked roughly at 10bb/100. Take the piss these sites do.

I haven't played on stars since, but am considering withdrawing too. However if I choose to do so, then it is because I want to use that money on a different site, where I feel they offer better deals. If I decide to do so, I will as well write stars an email and explain why (look, I could continue playing on your site, but I decided not to, because someone else is offering a better deal)

trying to actually hurt stars with those withdrawals doesn't serve any purpose. what is the message you want to submit here? 'hey look stars, I mad?'
Great post. If you want to withdrawal 100 dollars at a time because that is what you prefer, there is nothing wrong with that but if you are trying to do it to be childish and vindictive then I do not feel bad if Stars retaliates.

That matters less if it's just your hobby, though. I personally think

Is a great suggestion, and a big reason of why I started playing CAP: If you don't like playing with nits, dont play games that reward nitty play.

9 max NLHE is a train wreck imo. Even if there were zero rakeback related rewards, the game structure simply dictates that tight play is profitable.

Some guys like it so I'm glad stars offer it, but guys who play 9 max NLHE and then complain about nits are like guys who visit northern Canada and complain that it's cold.

If you are trying to hurt other players you will be punished. They reserve the right to protect their interests, that is in their TOS.

There are a lot of people out there who can't beat the game that I like and welcome. They don't act like 5 year olds when they don't get given all the lollies they want.

It's the whining cry babies who think Pokerstars should pay for their losses I could do without. But heaven forbid saying bad things about them - after all they are 2p2 "regs" and are obviously a better form of the human race than you or I.

Sure. But personally I don't mind playing a round of golf for 30 bucks. Make it 30 bucks a shot and I'll find myself a different hobby.

Just banning people is plenty to "protect their interests", no reason to confiscate their money. You dolt.
