I was thinking about this the other day while I was playing some 1/2 live. I was looking around my table (as well as the other tables) and I don't think any of the other players could be profitable online, at any stakes even microstakes. So my question to you 2+2 is: What percentage of live players would be profitable online? The casino I was at is pretty small, there were prolly only around 30 people there and I think they would all get destroyed online. Honestly I don't think any of them could be profitable. Give me a % and explain why. Thanks

Sorry if this is the wrong forum.

let's say 10% of each online and live players make profit in their own games. If you randomly collect some sample out of these two and make a game, there will be only about 10% of them who see profit. It's called a hard working bees theory. that 10% winners from live will often see profit in online as they are the winners and will adjust.

EDIT: the world is made out of winners and losers. thus winners will always win unless they become losers

How many online players are profitable online? That is about 10%, 20% even and 70% losers
Same as live.
How many of the online players would be profitable live, I would guess the same 10%

This argument of live vs online, is rediculous.

The reason online is tougher, is so elementary its embarrasing to have to address it.

When playing live, your competition is drawn mostly from people in your general area. Online, you gotta play anyone from anywhere in the world.

Just like if you are the best tennis player in your city, doesnt mean you can compete against the whole world.

Well not just that - online it's only the good players who massively multitable, so even if the skill distributions are the same between online and live, the average skill level of each table online is way higher.

Plus online there are 6 levels before you get to $1/$2 which is the lowest level live.
