Jackpot Sit and Gos on Ipoker.....How can they say they are progressive? Jackpot Sit and Gos on Ipoker.....How can they say they are progressive?

Ill try to keep it as short as possible .

Ive been playing these for the last few weeks and because im pretty slow
ive just noticed that ipoker must be making a fortune off these sit and gos.

for those that dont know heres how they work :-
you win 6 sit and gos (6 player max) in a row you win the progressive jackpot
you finish in the top 2, 6 in a row you win a consolation prize.

For those that dont play these its not as easy as it sounds as they are
basically crapshoots 1,000 chips 7 minute levels and the structure is bad.

Ok im going to do this using the " Fort Knox Jackpot " the highest one
Its a $59 buy in thats $5 rake and $4 towards the progreesive jacpot pool.
Now every week the jackpot isnt won the progressive for the Fort Knox
rises by $10,000 .

Very rarely is this won within 3 weeks
I think the average is somewhere between 5-8 weeks.
Last month the Rio Jackpot wasnt won until 12 weeks.

So heres where i have the problem :-
On average about 10 of these run every hour so thats $24 from each player
x 10 = $240

and multiply this by 24 (hours) so around $5760 each day is added by players
to the progressive jackpot.

Now over a week thats $40,000 !!!! and Ipoker is only adding 10k per week
to the progressive !!! Taking into account that they start the jackpot at
$50,000 after 2 weeks they will get this back .

So my question is what happens to all the money over and above the jackpot
pool ? How is this a progressive jackpot when it is a fixed amount it rises by
each week when it is pretty obvious more than 10k is being put into the
jackpot pool every week ?

So are Ipoker making huge profits with this promo and noone is questioning it?

How did u get the figure that it runs 10 per hour on average? Isn't that what it runs on peak times?

And also you forgot to add what they pay for the consolation prize.

Your calculations are way off. There are NOT running 10 per hour and NOT 240 per a day. I cannot tell you how many do actually run per day, but at the moment (Saturday afternoon), there are 2 running and nobody signed-up for the next one.

EDIT: I don't think I have ever seen 10 of them running at the same time.

this, I can see maybe 2-3 years ago that they were getting ~200 a day, but not anything close anymore.

plus you have to factor in RB for a lot of these players. you get RB on the full amount ($9), so ipoker, while making $$ on it still, are not making anywhere near $30K a week.

This is one of a number of things that iPoker need to be taken to task over.

Surely, to surely, they can't just run their site completely as they please ? Is there not some sort of independent body or someone who checks what they are doing from time to time ?

Um, because progressive means it goes up over time? Which is what it does?

I can understand if you wish it was raked less. I wish cheese was cheaper myself.

This thread brings bad memories. On the 5th of January 2009, when I was on/off playing poker without a clue pretty much (not that different now lol) I managed to win 4 in a row on the $5+1 jacpot sng's (forgot what they're called). Placed 4th on the 5th one, card dead ffs...the jackpot stood at $80,000, when normally it's $15k or something.

It's the kind of stuff that makes you go coulda woulda shoulda been....

Sorry for the OT!

Weren't there a couple occasions where they were accused of not paying out to jackpot winners without legit proof?

Like this: http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/29...-tl-dr-700172/

If I recall correctly they said he was colluding and denied the jackpot. The guy was staked by some random page and another player with a similar stake played in one (or two?) of the 6 games in question.
