I dont know if they are trustworthy enough to play there. I am still concerned about what happened and why it happened more than anything else. It was totally unacceptable for them to do that and then treat me the way they did. You would think a high level manager would have contacted me to apologize.

I agree Main event entry would be fair compensation especially considering the fact that I was off all week on vacation and wanted to play steps and other tournaments to gain entry.

Now I am back at work and dont have the time to spend.

yeah you defo didn't mention anywhere that all they had frozen was one dollar LOL!

The main even joke is getting a bit tired now imo. Be happy they un-froze u and wait for an apology til u re-deposit imo.

i have no idea what u just said but the Main event thing is no joke. Im very serious about it. They banned my account for no reason AND ACCUSED ME OF COLLUSION AND FRAUD for close to two weeks and the fact that I had very little money in there is of no consequence. This comes down to treating your customers very very poorly. I dont need to play there and as of right now I have very little faith in POKERSTARS regardless of what bull**** they come up with to justify the temporary closure of my account. Im a decent customer, Im the kind of person they want playing online poker at their site and supporting the poker players alliance to get internet gambling legalized in the US(which greatly benefits them).

Well LOL at me for thinking you couldn't possibly be serious about that. You're being ******ed. You do not deserve $10k-12k in compensation and it is absolutely ridiculous to think so. I think a $215 tourney ticket to the Sunday Million would be quite generous in such a situation.

You didn't even have any freaking money in your account. This isn't some lawsuit scenario where somebody taps you on the arm and you sue them for $200k for the emotional damage that was caused.

Stars handled this pretty badly imo. But you are somehow trying your best to out-do them.

No not at all. They falsely accused me of fraud and collusion and essentlially just wrote me off. That is an attack on my character of which I do not take lightly. I happen to be an upstanding citizen in my community. Do you have any idea how damaging this could be if this story were to get any national press exposure especially at a time when they are pushing for legalized internet poker in the US. I think you underestimate how poor their decision making really was in this process. I am really pissed off about this and their little note apologizing for any inconvenience doesnt cut it. I understand their need to provide security at the site and protect players but this was a ****ing joke from the getgo.

You have successfully passed PokerStars on the ****** scale. Congratulations!

Their judgment was terrible in suspending/closing your account in the first place. Yet you actually found a way to come off as even stupider in your own incredible overreaction.

But go ahead and continue on this bit about the damage to your reputation and that you are an upstanding member of your community and there's some grand risk of a media leak as everyone will continue to find it quite amusing.

I'm having a difficult time believing that you are serious because your last 2 or 3 posts have been so incredibly bizarre. But it would be really weird to be levelling about this so much later in the thread after the first part was confirmed to be legit.

well im sorry you disagree with me but you obviously have little self worth if being falsely accused of Fraud/Collusion doesnt get you upset, then having your account closed and then have no chance to reason with anybody about the decision because your told it is final and there is nothing else they can do and then out of the blue receive a note apologiizing for any inconvenience and having the account reopened with no explanation of WTF just happened.
You obviously have no real world experience at all.
If i did something like that in my job, I would be fired.
And I dont think IM overreacting, I am still really pissed about the whole thing and the way it was handled regardless if they reopened my account and like I said I have very little faith in POKERSTARS right now.

After seeing your stats from this thread it appears that they saved you money by not letting you play steps and losing more. You are mad about this? You should ask them to ban you so you stop wasting your money.

I realize that this is a frustrating situation but you got a response from Josem here, who is the acting head of the Game Security team at Pokerstars (according to this post). That's about as high up in the organization as you're going to find posting on 2+2. He's a classy guy and you should give him the couple of days he needs to sort things out.

+1

I was pretty suprised that he totally flipped and demanded a ME seat as compensation once his account was back open instead of being happy that the issues have been resolved. left the impression that a closed stars account with a <$1 balance is his smallest issue...

Well i will wait and see what they have to say. And everyone just relax about the main event seat as compensation, take a deep breath.
I am actually expecting nothing in the way of compensation.

I agree that whoever made such a terrible decision should be fired or reprimanded or demoted or should have to go back to the very beginning of training or something.

That has nothing to do with your ridiculous claim that this could somehow become a thing that media would report on and would harm your upstanding reputation within your community. I evidently have no real world experience and no self worth....yet you're the one who is concerned about the potential damage a report to the media about a chip-dump accusation could have on your rep in the community. You are pretty weird dude.

Nobody is saying it's not stressful to be accused falsely like that. But your apparent non-joke about thinking you should be deserving of a $10k seat for the stress caused upon you is a stretch beyond belief. And your concern about your reputation if the media got a hold of it is just completely bizarre.

Here's some information that you may not be aware of: The media doesn't care about this nor would they ever report on it. Nobody in your neighborhood gives a crap about this either. To think even for a second that either of those aspects might be even slightly untrue is delusional.

Josem/Michael has to be looking forward to dealing with you now that you are apparently going to whine about the potential media damage to your reputation that this might have caused. Strangely though, this does give him/them even more incentive to get this stuff right the first time.

cookiemd - You had a problem with a site with probably the best reputation in all of online poker taking your money and had the support of pretty much the ENTIRE forum and everyone on your side. This is a really unusual thing (because false accusations against the site by people who really were cheating are far more common around here). For you to screw up the backing of the entire forum as you are successfully doing is a significant achievement.

I am with you MB... IMO Stars should now justifiably ban OP based on his recent statements...OP seems to be vindicative and could go out of his way to harm Stars with a complete disregard for others players...

Stars owes OP an full apology and more so the poker community is owed an explanation as to how this mistake was made and the actions taken to insure nothing like this happens again in the future...But if I was Stars I would say thanks but no thanks to OP's future business...

As you can tell from my post count, I've been here a long time but rarely have anything to say. That's probably a good thing because, apparently like you, I have a low tolerance for bull**** and a hair-trigger temper.

That said, PS screwed up here and I fully agree they do owe you something...perhaps, as someone else suggested, entry into one of their major tournaments. The ME seat thing....well, let's just say you were smoking something really, really strong when you wrote that.

I may be wrong, but I'd bet your latest posts (the ones where you got all worked up about your reputation, etc) were written in anger because of the nit-picking about your bankroll. Frustration and paranoia kicked in and, voila!, a new personality emerges.

Do what I do...refrain from writing anything when that happens.

The basic facts remain...PS messed up and you couldn't play for a week. I'm sure you'll see some kind of compensation...hell, they gave me $25 when a cashout was delayed for a week. Despite your outbursts I know I still hope things are made right for you. Just be the same guy who posted originally, accept their apology, and move on.

(By the way, as a former reporter, I can assure you the chance of this ever going public is less than negligible.)

EVERYONE PLEASE READ THIS. AS I SAID IN MY LAST POST I DONT REALLY EXPECT ANY COMPENSATION SO JUST RELAX. THOUGH I AM VERY PISSED ABOUT THIS WHOLE THING.

Now in regards to my paranoia I have none

In regards to the joker who thought I might harm pokerstars in some way....And that they should now ban me.
Really???????? I hope you were joking or your ******ed, on of the two

And Bob Im not worried about my reputation being hurt by this incident I dont give a crap what pokerstars says I know i didnt do anything wrong. I was talking about this hurting pokerstars reputation for closing someones account in this manner and giving me initially no recourse whatsoever. I wasnt worried about my reputation just so you know

I see that I misinterpreted your intention on the second part. Evidently when you were talking about "how damaging this could be" you were referring to how it could hurt online poker in general and I guess also Stars.

The fact that you wrote that right after your bit about being an upstanding member of the community gave the reader the understandable impression that you were referring to yourself when you said "do you have any idea how damaging this could be."

I disagree that someone should be fired. Someone was just following protocol. More then one flag was raised for their security team to take it this far. It is very unfortunate that such a mistake was made. But, for every once in a blue moon epic disaster there are tens of thousands of players being protected at a very high level. We're poker players. So even when a situation is assessed with the best of tools, with the most pristine observational skills, and the most elite level of focus in the game, there is an element of judgement that has to be made. The security department, despite whatever their standards are, had a system of checks in place they all agreed were very good and protected us and them. When numerous flags arise their system kicks in, but someone still has to make a judgment call. So the issue to address would be decreasing the judgement attribute to an even smaller percentage.

Words can't say how distraught I would be if this were to happen to me. But, it was undone. You are probably in your right to let them know how unhappy you are. But, you have taken it too far. To such a level that even though I sympathise with your situation I really hope they dont give you anything.

And just to be devil's advocate, anomaly's happen. You might have had an ip address very close to someone else. You might have been playing from a new pc. Your internet provider might have changed something without you knowing. Any or all of that might have coincided with a few other flags to create a rare situation that the team thought was bad intentions. And to play hell's advocate, they might have reassessed the situation just because of this thread. They might have weighted your future rake versus the small amount and flipped their decision. Since, you are playing 1000PLO, I'm sure the hundreds of regulars would chip in to compensate a 500 chip dump to keep a player in the game who limp/calls QJh3h2h UTG. Being cynical to show you that everything isnt what it may seem. You are the one who said how honest and honorable you were. Doesnt make much sense to make that claim and then not handle an unfortunate situation(that you would have been grateful for if the other way and a legit dump) with just an ounce of grace.
