I am bored so I thought I would compile a list of online poker tells to spot fish , not ones that consist of click speeds and such but much more obvious . So here it is please feel free to add.

Chat Tells:
they type "vnh" after seeing someone showing down AA
they overuse the words "donk" , "ev" , and "three bet"
they type "gl" before a match begins

Screenname / Account Image :

they have an intelli poker image
their screen name consists of the following AA , KK , rockets , any hand combination

People who use poker terminology regularly and have actually watched enough poker to gain a general level of understanding are already lightyears ahead of the pure gamblers I prefer to go after.

I don't think I've ever seen a supermegadonk say "three bet".

QFMT!

I also am instantly suspicious of any player who has some semblance of poker terminology in their nick... "PrettyPinkPony" FTW!

How to spot a HUGE nit in the Party SNGs: Look for any player who has an underscore concatenated to the end of their name, eg:

NIT_
megaNIT_
superduperNIT_
pleaseshoveintomeateverysingleopportunity_

I think it must be something from another forum and this is their way of "telling each other", but man is it a dumb thing to do...

Nah even that's too obvious. Can't have good capitalization, and preferably have numbers at the end. Names work great too.

e.g. jake911

Hehe, yep I agree with this - a common Christian name and some random numbers on the end is probably about the best nick choice of all.

The "PrettyPinkPony" thing comes from a thread in the poker theory forum about picking names where somebody suggested it... Then shortly after I saw the nick on Party and knew instantly they were a 2p2er = OWNED!

love these 'spot bad player' threads

I try to work as many of these 'tells' into my game as possible.

Things evolve, tells change from year to year.
Anything "rounders" in sn used to be a bad player.

Table coaches and name (donk, fish) callers are still easy targets.
Obvious fools.

I like the dirtbike/truck one - might have to turn images back on...and find a good dirtbike pic for myself.

Might have to start coaching and name-calling too.
