The most meaningful definition of randomness is that which cannot be predicted by humans.
If you knew the code and had access to this you could predict the cards this is not random.
Except:

Almost all the sites now use hardware RNG's.

Even on any tuppeny ha'penny site that didn't use an RNG, if you had the code you would need massive computing power to predict the RNG output in a viable timeframe.

Really please explain this.Or are you talking "WIKI" again.
All sites use Quantum true RNGs?

Is subatomic particle behaviour really random? the way they behave is exactly as predetermined as everything else in the universe has been since the Big Bang.

The reason we think these specific particles behave randomly is simply that no human measurement has been able to account for their behaviour.

In this view, subatomic events do indeed have a prior cause, but we just don't understand it (yet), and the events therefore seem random to us. Determinist will say, quantum physics is exactly as suited for random number generation as is atmospheric noise is it really a definition of randomness.

Also what sites use these please.

That depends on which view you take.

Again, that is dependent on which view you take.

Next you are talking specifically about the deterministic view.

Whilst this is all correct it really doesn't have anything to do with poker RNG's, now, does it?

Even taking the 'deterministic' view, you are talking about quantum events of which at least trillions would be involved in setting one bit of any random number.

All we are concerned with is that:

a) There is no bias in the RNG (and here I mean 'bias' in a technical sense, not that it is biased towards any particular players. ).

b) There are no patterns in it's output that are practically predictable.

And the RNG's employed certainly satisfy those criteria.

Are you seriously wanting to get into a discussion about determinism and quantum theory here?

That is very similar to the situation we have with on line poker:

Hundreds of thousands of people playing.

Hundreds of millions of hand histories available

Excellent tools available to analyse histories for evidence of rigging.

No evidence forthcoming.

Simples!

Gotta love how ray always makes with the substantive responses.

Your doing a great job of promoting the 'rigged' point of view.

Not.

Hi

I was at a programming conference the other day and I happened to be sitting with some programmers from the main poker sites and 2+2.

The discussion got around to rigging the deal and I was surprised to discover that all the site's programmers freely admitted that the deal was rigged, but only against certain players.

A bit of magic with laptops and smartphones and IP crosschecking by the 2+2 guy and we came up with this list of 2+2 usernames who are on the 'rigged for doomswitch' lists.
