That's not true. I'm an agent. Players sign up under their regular country, verification, play VIP tables even, nothing shady at all. Pros are more expanded cashier options, usually faster transactions, LB races, and ability to speak to same person live when/if there is an issue. The cons are a rogue scumbag like OP dealt with. Agent should be vetted and their info is on file. GG is wrong in not helping out here. Regardless of OP's specific actions, there is proof that the agent took the money out of the account and has promised for months to give it to OP. He makes wild claims his government and tax authority is preventing him. Screenshots of the chat back up what OP has said.

Always work with a big agent. Get a vouch before working with. Also gg is a rake trap unless you get extra rb + table select super well.(comes with a warning and a ban next time as well)

That rake trap has spread to agents. The amount of charges to agent is insane. In this calendar month, one player has 12K in gross rake. After all charges, the net revenue down to me is $1684.35 and then times my payout percentage. GG does not just hit players. Its insane the fees they come up with.

To be clear, an agent does not have direct access to funds. Player signs up and wants to deposit via Skrill, as an example. Player sends skrill to agent. Agent credits player account from agent panel. Player wins 2K and wants to withdraw. Agent debits player account and it shows in agent panel balance. I have to go to operations amd give them withdrawal instructions. If agent, like Reuben, is a scumbag they just give their own wallet address for crypro withdrawal. This is what happened to OP. I was vetted when I became agent. They have my ID and pertinent information. Some skins are not so trustworthy. FWIW, some big name pros that are agents have multiple problems and far from very honest.

As someone said, know who your agent is and get references from people that work with them for extended period of time.

OP is clearly wronged here. I've seen the screenshots of the chat with Reuben. If OP VPN'd in from Buckingham Palace, he does not deserve to be ripped off. Something wrong with people that find it okay to steal from someone in this circumstance.

Guys, i was here just to warn you. If Ruben scamms one person less because of this then it was worth my time. I dont really expect help or tipps from you how to handle this, altough i hoped for some understanding. In the end, i think i know what to do. Also in my 15 years of being a professional Poker Player i always had an Agent, of course if the sites allowed it and also the same counts for my Poker friends, it is very common in my circle, almost nobody plays without an Agent! Normally it is just profitable for everybody involved. I was really suprised that is not so common here?! Also this is the first time something like this happened to me in my carrer and also my friends never had something like this!

Because what he did is obviously very illegal and just plain stupid, because he will not get away with this. I think maybee he did get in a difficult situation and needed the money. I don't think anybody said what the agent did is legit, cause it's a plain scam.

The problem is that the nature of a player-agent relationship is usually not regulated in most countries and taking legal action seems a waste of time and money.

The point here is that when you give your money to any agent, you should always keep in mind the not-so-remote possibility that you are not going to get them back.

I'm sure Ruben was trustable when you gave him your money, as any agent who wrote here. But you never know what someone is willing to do when they are in trouble and have access to all that money. Especially when aware that probably there won't be any legal consequence.

I think is good to warn people on the risks on relying to agents in general, rather than focusing only on this Ruben.

For god sake, if a company like Full Tilt did what it did with its customers' money, imagine what could do any random X.

It's mindboggling to me that a company the size of GGPoker enables circumvention of country gambling restrictions. It's certainly fukt up for people like me and many others who adhere to those restrictions and by that get a significantly worse starting situation in their attempt to be successful in online poker.

But even more so I am just suprised that they simply don't give a fak and risk the gambling licenses in many EU countries. I wouldn't ever rat on anyone but there are many people who have no qualms doing so and it must only be a matter of time until legal authorities will be informed to read a thread like this one.
